When you've run for 66km and 13 hours and your 2-year-old son runs to meet you at the aid station and then says "I want to run with you, daddy". That's something you can't buy. I may not have finished the @thenorthface @lavaredoultratrail (again) but moments like that make it all worthwhile. Four more sleeps until I’m back in this crowd for The North Face Lavaredo Ultra Trail. If there’s a more stirring race start I’m yet to find it.
So that's January done. Fairly happy to have clocked 22 out of 31 training days. Finally found some consistency and built a solid base. Lifting heavier, running faster and more freely than I have for a long while. Still a lot of hard work to be done in the 87 days to #Thames100 race day, not least in the kitchen where my nutrition still needs improvement. Manvmiles has a new second home...
Before I go any further, I want to get one thing straight, Tumblr will always be the spiritual home of manvmiles. So the arrival of a new .co.uk isn’t going to change what I post here on the blog.
But... I thought I’d have a play around with Wordpress and a more standard web format to see if I could make something new.
Some of the more astute of you will have spotted some Wordpress broken links on here (looking at you nickswhite). From now on these should work, although I promise to avoid posting the same stuff everywhere.
