I have so many thoughts on Buck having multiple outfits at that restaurant!!

I still think we’re getting some sort of speed dating type situation or something akin to speed dating. Where all three of them are at, but possibly with Buck returning for a separate date/dates later on. (We have no evidence Eddie has more than one costume at this point as he could take his jacket off during the scene to reveal a shirt with rolled up sleeves - which is why he’s had his arm airbrushed) the biggest question is which Buck outfit is for which scene?!!

Of course they could both be for speed dating (as we don’t actually know what it is right now so that’s what I’m calling it until we know for sure!!), or it could be one for speed dating and one for an actual date resulting from the speed dating! My personal hope is that the all black is for the speed dating with the greenish vertical striped shirt being for an actual date. Because the idea of both Buck and Eddie being in black and Ravi in white would be amazing!! It would be about showing them in the same place from a visual perspective - getting back out there into the dating scene, but also telling us it’s not necessarily going to go the way they think or want it to. Both of them have had first dates wearing black in the past and they’ve generally not gone all that well for them - yes the girl has stuck around for a bit but she’s either bailed when the goings get tough (Ali) or it was essentially playing with fire (Kim) and wasn’t meant to be a long term thing. So the all black look on top becomes a signifier of the shelf life of those relationships and these dates as well - the implication being they might stick around for a short amount of time but only because they serve a specific narrative purpose and that’s what’s significant not the actual person Buck or Eddie are dating.

If this is the case and that’s how it plays out, it’s implying that whoever the dates end up being they will serve a limited purpose that’s important then be gone (Buck hooking up and exploring his bisexuality after figuring it out and escaping Tommy and Eddie getting back out there after the Kim and Marisol thing).

Ravi in white is also interesting - because he’s narratively important in that he’s a representation of Bucks abandonment issues he’s therefore representing Bucks white shirt situation - telling us visually that things are not going to go well for Buck and it’s going to trigger his abandonment issues (which is a great thing as this narratively needs to happen to ultimately get him to figure out his feelings for Eddie), which in turn suggests that the 2 people that are connected in some way that Buck hooks up with is going to end up with things going badly for him - which brings my little theory about Buck getting a stalker (because they think there’s more there than Buck did - even though he was clear about it - and them becoming unhinged) and that leading to an nde for him perfectly into play!!!

The other thing I’m now thinking and wondering is is if they’re going to make it appear that they’re on a date with each other - you know how they cut between people giving answers etc that makes it look like they’re talking to each other - only for it to end up being that they’re talking to different people and not each other!!!

I think it would be very funny if they do go there - but it also would be a way of foreshadowing buddie canon and letting those planted seeds sprout for the general audience - because the only way you would use that narrative device in this scenario and with Buck and Eddie is if buddie is happening and you’re building into it - because it would be straight up queerbaiting your audience otherwise!!!
