Where's that turnpike entrance?
For anyone unfamiliar with Hatteras Island, we have one road. Not one main road with a lot of side streets. One. Road. HIghway 12. One way off, one way on...when it is available anyway.
This lady came down from god knows where and was asking one of the seafood guys at Food Lion down in Avon for a bigger deal on one of the fish. She was livid when he refused to sell anything for less, so she had her own ideas.
Lady: If you can't go any lower, I'll just go to Harris Teeter!
Employee: Well I'm sorry, but our prices are set. If you feel you can get a better deal at another store you're more than welcome to try.
Lady: I WILL! Where's the nearest Harris Teeter?
Employee: Head north for about an hour. It'll be up in Kill Devil Hills on your left.
Lady: AN HOUR?! I don't think so, I'll just jump on the turnpike and be there in half that!
Employee: We don't have a turnpike, mam. Just Highway 12.
Lady: Oh, you think you locals can all pull fast ones on us tourists! I know the roads here! I know the entrance is in this town!
