Indulge in the sweet and comforting flavors of maple with these maple stick doughnuts stuffed with rich maple cream. Perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat any time of the day.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup milk. 1/4 cup maple syrup. 2 large eggs. 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Vegetable oil for frying. 1 cup maple cream store-bought or homemade. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: Mix the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt together in a big bowl. Mix the eggs, melted butter, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Avoid over-mixing. In a deep, heavy-bottomed pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius. Fry two to three doughnuts at a time by carefully dropping spoonfuls of dough into the heated oil. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until thoroughly cooked and golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, remove the doughnuts and set them on a plate covered with paper towels to remove excess oil. Using a pastry tip or a chopstick, pierce a small hole in the side of each doughnut while they are still warm. Using the hole you made, fill a piping bag with maple cream and generously pipe into each doughnut. Before serving warm, dust the maple stick doughnuts with powdered sugar. Savor your mouthwatering maple stick doughnuts accompanied by maple cream!
