These Hoisin Meatball Lettuce Wraps are a delicious and healthy way to enjoy a flavorful charcuterie dish. The savory pork meatballs are glazed with hoisin sauce and served in crisp iceberg lettuce cups, topped with fresh vegetables and herbs. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal or appetizer.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground pork. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup hoisin sauce. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon ginger, minced. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 head of iceberg lettuce, leaves separated. 1/2 cup shredded carrots. 1/2 cup chopped cucumber. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 1/4 cup chopped green onions. Sesame seeds for garnish.
Instructions: Mix ground pork, breadcrumbs, garlic that has been minced, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger that has been minced, red pepper flakes if using, and salt and pepper in a bowl. Make sure to mix the ingredients well until they are all mixed in. Shape the mixture into meatballs that are about an inch across. Put the pan on medium-high heat and add a little oil. They should be cooked through and browned on the outside for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Get the lettuce leaves and toppings ready while the meatballs are cooking. Clean the lettuce leaves and set them apart. The cucumber, green onions, cilantro, and carrots should all be cut up. Assemble the lettuce wraps by taking a lettuce leaf in your hand, adding a meatball, and then adding shredded carrots, chopped cucumber, cilantro, and green onions on top. Put more hoisin sauce on top, sprinkle sesame seeds on top, and serve right away.
