DRAW THAT FACE HE MAKES WHEN HE FIRST SEES VADER LIKE THE LOOK OF ABSOLUTE FEAR I BEG YOU
I think/hope one of these two shots is the one you are talking about! In the first one, gosh, he just looks so frightened and like he has no idea what to think? He doesn’t know what to do? He’s not ready to deal with this? Ewan is so expressive. And the second one is just pur shock and fear. 🥺
Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi - Darth Vader on Mapuzo Keyframe by Brett Northcutt
For many years, people have justified Obi-Wan Kenobi’s decision to leave behind a badly maimed Anakin Skywalker on a Mustafar lava bank in “Revenge of the Sith”, instead of providing the latter with a mercy kill. I’m one of those who see no justification in Obi-Wan’s action. I believe what Obi-Wan had done was petty and especially cruel.
Am I really supposed to believe that Obi-Wan had stayed true to the Jedi Code by leaving Anakin to slowly burn to death on a lava bank? Seriously? This was such a cruel act to impose on anyone, regardless of whether that person was an enemy or not. No wonder Anakin was pissed off about it . . . to the point that ten years later, he nearly subjected Obi-Wan to a similar situation - slow burn - on Mapuzo in the DisneyPlus series, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”.
I keep thinking of Katniss and Peeta in "The Hunger Games". After tossing rival Cato over the Cornucopia's roof, both had agreed to end his suffering with an arrow to the heart from Katniss, in order to prevent him from being eaten alive by genetically modified beasts. They did not make this decision out of spite or a desire to harm. Katniss and Peeta had given Cato a mercy killing, despite him being an enemy who would just as soon kill the both of them. As far as I'm concerned, both Katniss and Peeta did a better job of "living up to the Jedi Code" than Obi-Wan did on Mustafar.
