I also felt like Say Yes to the Marquess was the weakest link in Castles Ever After, but I still have to read Do You Want to Start a Scandal? Rafe and Clio were just … okay. It got bonus points for the craft brewing nerdery (even though I don’t really like IPAs), for including Phoebe, and for Bruiser’s truly magnificent fakery as Rafe’s “valet/wedding planner.” But the main couple had a hard time holding my interest.

I think my favourite scene with just the two of them is the cake tasting/cake fight scene... and yes, I have yet to read Do You Want to Start a Scandal... Piers is the hero in that one...

I FORGOT ABOUT THE CRAFT BEER STUFF! Also, doesn’t matter what order you read the Castles series in - they don’t have any sort of connection, near as I can tell, except “heroine inherits random castle, hijinks ensue.”

Hey! I’m right over the river in So. Indiana. The Overdrive database for my county library system has a pretty good selection of romance. There’s also inter-library loan for physical books, which might work across state lines. Maybe worth trying?

Oh, hi neighbor! I could be wrong but I don’t think out of state inter-library loans are an option, but I might be hella incorrect on that. (I know nothing TBH lol). Either way, I’ll definitely have to look into that! Thanks, hon! :)

Seriously this is really great. Harlequin are putting some top-notch romances on the market these days. This one is a really different take and the author has done her research.

Isn’t that basically the plot of Practical Magic? I mean, they’re sisters not lovers, but it’s totally a revenge killing that ends with all concerned parties - including an officer of the law - saying “Eh. He was a murdering abusive scumbag.”

Frankly, the news that Cat Valente is writing the story of the Quarian ark is the only thing that makes not getting it in-game bearable. I'm like 75% through Andromeda, and it really bums me out that the people WHO NEEDED A NEW HOME MOST are not getting one in the actual game. But that has nothing to do with fandom stuffs.

Yeah that strikes me as something that they could have done in a DLC if we were even getting a DLC for Andromeda. Knowing that Valente’s handling it in a tie-in novel makes me feel a little better, but my feelings regarding Andromeda are all knotted and convoluted still.
