STORYTIME: I attempted to join a marauders Reddit group for this past week. Let’s just say thanks to that experience I’m staying on tumblr. 😭🤣
It’s not that I can’t handle ppl who have different opinions than me, it’s just I can’t handle when people start a conversation then they’re unwilling to listen to the other side of the conversation and I just straight up get a bunch of downvotes and one little reply not even reading my response they just “well you’re wrong bc I say so” like what…
Anyways tumblr is safer idk why I tried Reddit? I didn’t know it was that bad. The Jegulus hate is strong there HOWEVER I’m used to that, I brush that off. But the amount of people who just hate fanfiction in general took me out like woah—
“No! No! It has to be canon everything! you all disrespect canon! You can’t just take the characters and create a whole new universe!” Uh yeah I can. That’s the point of fanfiction. Also some ppl were getting upset bc I said I don’t like canon HP books or movies… I just don’t. I don’t respect the author either. So yeah I’m taking the characters and putting them in an alternate universe in fanfiction to bring me entertainment. Bc who is going to stop me?
“You can’t! You can’t!” Yes I can because it’s fanfiction. “But canon—“ how about you but a can in that mouth of yours 😙
“Some people miss characterize my favorite character disrespecting their canon!” Okay..? Idc, that’s their interpretation of the character. It’s not hurting anyone. It’s not like the canon version of the character is going away and it’s not like you can’t read and write fanfiction with the version of the characters that you want. Can ppl stop acting like headcanons and fanfiction are evil plots to get rid of all things canon PLZ.
