John, Equius, Eridan, Feferi, Jake, Roxy, Kankri, Meulin, Porrim, Aranea, and Cronus are in choir!

Eridan and Cronus both get obnoxious about it and Meulin can't find a pitch for the life of her, but they all have a good time.

My band stuck

John plays the tuba for marching/concert band and piano for jazz

Dave plays the trombone for all three, he is a middle chair in concert, but v good at marching and the absolute king of improv

Rose plays every saxophone but alto. She prefers bari. If they don’t have a part for her in marching band she’ll play in the pit or run electronics before she plays alto sax

Jade plays Oboe for concert and jazz band and clarinet for concert

Karkat plays the clarinet for concert/marching and alto sax for jazz. He is jealous of Dave’s improv skillz because the boy never practices. He has checked Dave’s instrument slot and his trombone stays in it every weekend he will not stand for this.

Kanaka does guard during marching band and plays flute for concert, if the jazz band ever needs a flute she will step in but she mostly ends up moving equipment and supporting her girlfriend

Jane also plays the flute, she learned how to play the trumpet for jazz band

Jake plays the trumpet all the time. He can go very high, and uses this power to annoy the hell out of everyone

Dirk plays percussion. He prefers drums to keyboards, is center snare, and plays trap set for jazz band

Roxy plays the French horn, she is drum major and plays various small percussion instruments for jazz band (Very Good at the tambourine)

Callie plays the piccolo, and plays sax for jazz

California plays the baritone and plays the trombone badly during jazz band

Okay, strap yourselves in, folks…

For those who don’t remember the Dark Times, at the height of its popularity, Homestuck had spawned several fan-created AUs that were, themselves, popular enough that people unconnected to their creators would write fanfic set in them, cosplay as the AU versions of various characters, and so forth. It got to the point that some of the most well-established AUs had separate mini-fandoms made up of folks who’d never actually read Homestuck proper, and were in it just for that AU.

The most prominent example of the type is probably Marchingstuck, a high school AU in which the Beta kids and Alternian trolls were all members of a school marching band. (The Alpha kids and Beforan trolls don’t feature because the whole AU lived and died prior to their introduction.) Marchingstuck was so popular that it went recursive and spawned its own fandom project, a Tumblr-hosted fan-fan-comic called Promstuck that ran for six months in the latter half of 2011 and successfully concluded after over 250 pages.

(I was never into Marchingstuck myself, though I did casually follow 4chords for a while.)

Reasons Why the Beforan Trolls got Banned From Being Section Leaders

Damara: tried to beat up Meenah

Rufioh: never had his music with him (when asked he would point to his head and say, "it's all up here")

Mituna: managed to break every single alto sax that SHS had

Kankri: would forget to march because he was too busy going off on a tangent

Meulin: regularly forgets to bring her baton to games

Porrim: called one of the interviewers for leadership an idiot

Latula: tried to skateboard with her drums on

Aranea: started a clarinet cult

Horuss: wouldn't stop making inventions out of the instruments

Kurloz: chucklevoodoo mind controlled the freshmen into doing his bidding

Cronus: tried to march guitar (thought it would make him look sexier)

Meenah: yelled the most ungodly string of swears at any car that honked while the band was practicing

What the SHS Kids Wear to Band Camp

John: standard khaki shorts and graphic t-shirt, you know the drill.

Rose: tank top and athletic shorts. She occasionally peppers in a pair of earrings for ~flair~

Dave: athletic shorts and slogan t-shirts. Think "I got my crabs from dirty dicks" level slogans.

Jade: denim shorts and crop tees, paired with green converse

Jane: high-waisted khaki shorts and button-up short sleeve tops. This girl WILL NOT compromise her 50s aesthetic for functionality.

Roxy: sweat pants and tank tops, topped off with funky sunglasses

Dirk: various anime shirts and those really long tripp shorts. Totally not functional, and he regularly overheats.

Jake: same thing as John but add a flannel on top

Aradia: same thing as Jade, but instead of cropped t-shirts, it's oversized t-shirts

Tavros: jorts and one of those patterned floral shirts that dads wear. Also, birkenstocks

Sollux: sweaters and jeans. why, the world may never know

Karkat: old band t-shirts and jeans

Nepeta: cargo shorts, a tank top, and far too many silly bandz on her arms

Kanaya: ballet wear. like, leotard with a sheer overskirt ballet wear. this chick is wild

Terezi: athletic shorts with oversized patterned button-up tops and crocs

Vriska: tank tops and boxers that she stole from John

Equius: muscle tanks and athletic shorts. He still manages to overheat in this

Gamzee: whatever he wore to sleep the night before

Eridan: his uniform. There is something wrong with him

Feferi: pajama shorts and tank tops, with plenty of friendship bracelets on top

Damara: anime t-shirts and low-waisted athletic shorts

Rufioh: his vest and shorts, t-shirt not included (to the distaste of most of the band)

Mituna: khaki shorts and striped t-shirts

Kankri: sweaters and shorts. w h y

Meulin: tennis skorts and tank tops, with her hair pulled up into a bun

Porrim: shorts and a tank top, all black

Latula: bright colored athletic shorts and t-shirts

Aranea: flowy dresses b/c she owns nothing else

Kurloz: stereotypical juggalo fit, face paint and all
