Sniper’s Lover
Marcus x Reader
Synopsis: When Marcus is asked to take out you, Winston’s daughter who he has never met, he doesn't think twice before taking the assignment. But once he sees you through the scope, things change and he begins to fall in love with you.
A/N: I don't know his last name and it freaking sucks, but!!! Marcus doesn't get enough love tbh and I loveeeee Willem Dafoe. It's based heavily off of Marcus protecting John during the first movie in case you were wondering!
It was simple, simpler than any of his other assignments. Kill the girl... So why was this so damn hard? Marcus grunted before pulling back from the scope as he began to watch you with his own two eyes. You weren’t far away and it was easy to see that you had your guard down, he could kill you effortlessly. His marine training and assassin background made kills like this as simple as slicing bread, yet he couldn't do it.
He couldn’t kill you.
Consoling Marcus Keane...
Real talk, Marcus Keane needed all the consolation in the world universe, though he typically found nun none oh, puns.
He is good at his levelheaded portrayals where he could convince people he was normal okay. You know, all the times where he pretended he had it together and knew what was what…But we all know he had a gun hidden somewhere in case others needed convincing.
This man doesn’t talk about his problems until he’s nearly exploding with suffering—full-out gross sobs and all. Lucky for you both, you were near when his dreams of his fucked up existence childhood came knocking.
You found him cleaning his gun which was never a good sign…It typically meant he had either shot or shot at someone. So much for laying low, right? But, considering you never heard the gun fire, you doubted he threatened or murdered someone for once.
You sat together for a while. You both knew that he needed to talk whatever was in his head out, but he hadn’t come to terms with it yet. You were patient with him—you absolutely had to be.
He asked you some incidental questions about your upbringing. What were you like as a kid; what was your family like; what were your favorite things and so on. You answered honestly, and he smiled through tears you both were ignoring. But no one had a perfect childhood, and you told him as much.
He tried to tell you he was fine, but your leveling gaze told him you weren’t buying it. Marcus was a shit liar when he was upset. After some time, he started talking about memories of his abusive father and how that made him wary of men and eventually adults in general. Things didn’t exactly get better for him when he was sent to a boy’s home either. Though the one thing he could count on was his faith, and you admired him for it.
He told you no one should admire him, and you argued your point well. You explained how he was incredibly strong for having go through so much and continue on the path he was. His childhood wasn’t easy (that was putting it lightly) and neither were exorcisms…Honestly, you didn’t know how he did it.
He explained that it was his faith which kept him from swallowing a bullet. His faith, and his support system. He didn’t have much, but he had you, Peter, and Tomas. Mouse was out there somewhere too, same as Rose and the children. It was only a handful of people, but it was enough to keep him somewhat sane.
To conclude the night, you prayed together. For once he slept and nothing plagued his mind, and it was because of you.

When you were brought before the volturi, the last thing you expected was to be told you were the mate to Marcus, one of the three kings.
At first you were horrified. There had been stories that Aro and Caius kept their mates locked away in one of the towers of Volturi castle. You didn’t want to be locked away. You enjoyed freedom.
Well it seemed Marcus had no intention of locking you away, but he had no intention of letting you out of his sight either. After you got to know each other, he refused to let you leave his arms. This wasn’t just in your private chambers either. You quickly found your permanent place on his lap in the throne room.
You supposed it could’ve been worse though. He was comfortable and gentle with you, occasionally stroking your hair and making you feel much like a lap cat. Maybe you might’ve been embarrassed if you didn’t love every moment.

Synopsis: Being the daughter of Winston was no safe and simple lifestyle, working at the continental especially didn't help. There was danger at every corner and the likelihood of you being taken was higher than most people around you. The lifestyle of your father didn't scare you away from the hitmen that were around you as you were engaged to Marcus. You loved him despite the age gap and would do anything to keep him safe. But what happens when an old flame comes stumbling into the continental bar looking disheveled and broken... You weren't afraid of the assassins that surrounded you... But you were afraid of the Baba Yaga. Not because of his skill.
But because you still loved him.

It had been the brief flickers of images that had come first to you.
The back of black cloaks as they marched away. The pale blank features of frozen faces that stared at you. A castle. A familiar face staring back at you, the only one that smiled at you. Red eyes. Sometimes, they looked like your eyes. And in more absurdity, the red pool that was slick across the floor beneath you as the euphoria bundled inside you like a sating need.
A need you did not experience anymore.
The castle was the first to become reality. A place belonging outside your imagination.
Italy, you thought, your lips twisting in a soft smile. Triumph blooming in your chest. The castle was real.
What was better than staring at the outside of it? The free tour that was offered by the friendly face of a tour guide calling last minute additions.
Inside was beautiful. The high-topped ceiling, echoing clips of heels on marble. A yearning reaching inside of you. I have been here before.
Soon, the tour was winding down, coming to an end. ‘The great surprise.’ The guide boasted, with a dazzling smile on her red lips.
You stood outside the large doors, excitement buzzing through you. The doors opened, ushering the tour inside.
Moments later the screams began.
Time had passed since then, months; and more things belonged outside your imagination you learned.
Red eyes.
The black cloaks that hung on the statue-like-bodies.
The one friendly face that stared at you. Marcus. He saved you that day, the day you arrived at the Castle, the day you was ushered into the room that reeked with death. The day you learned the truth about the world you thought you knew.
More memories had come back since then. All of them revolving around someone who struck fear into your very being.
Aro.
“Y/N,” His voice soft and hollow. “Remember me?” He asked, his lips twitching in amusement from the sound of your heartbeat jumping with anxiety.
You willed yourself to be calm and looked up at him, trying to find his motives in his face. It revealed nothing, except the same flicker of amusement from before.
“No.”
“Lie.” He said with certainty. His finger trailed down your cheek and to your chin, tilting it so he could stare you in the eye.
“You remember more. You know the truth.”
He was different now than he was when you first arrived. While he was full of contempt at your arrival, now he was curious. He was searching for something in your eyes. His finger travelled, running along the side of your jaw, down the line of your neck and settling along the nape. You shuddered when you felt the rest of his fingers curl around it like stubborn Ivy.
Just a small squeeze of his fingers and your eye were brimming with tears. “I can do it again.” He leaned closer, a small smile on his face.
“Will you betray me, sister?”
Translation: Will you tell?
He knew the answer. But Aro continued to toy with you.
He would continue to do so until you died again, whether it be by his hand or not.
Back in Marcus chambers, you were sprawled on the bed, staring at the ceiling as you furiously blinked away tears. I will not cry.
Marcus returned moments later, his red eyes seemed more vibrant with from both the feeding and seeing you.
“My love,” He whispered, his hands wrapping around your waist as he laid down next to you, his chin resting on top of your head. “When will you change?”
Translation: When will I be able to stop worrying about your fragile humanity?
You had been thinking about it for a while. But you were at a crossroads. Aro had turned you, your past self, in hopes that you would be a potential advantage. You had been a disappointment, but he kept you around until the infatuation between you and Marcus began causing issues.
You lost interest in trying to gain power, and Marcus was only interested in being with you. Since neither of you cared for Aro’s plan of chasing power, he decided to eliminate the weakest of the two, even if it was his sister.
Could you risk it again? Could you risk Marcus?
“Why are you upset?” Marcus asked, smelling the faint wet saltiness of nearing tears.
“Aro …” You started before stopping yourself. Mustn’t tell.
I know what you will do, Marcus. You thought. If I tell you how I died, it will only cause more problems than solutions.
“Yes?”
“Nothing. I think I’m ready.”
It’s not like you had the option to say no, you would have to change eventually. Your time as a human was simply borrowed and it was time to pay the piper.
Marcus smiled down at you, adoration in his gaze. “You have nothing to fear.” He brushed strands of your hair from your face. You could hear Aro’s voice echo in your mind.
Lie.

PS: Anything in Italics is the past
The door slammed behind you as you let a deep huff out of your lungs. Marcus looked up from the stove at your disheveled form, the dinner below him bubbling rapidly. “Rough night darling?” he asked casually as he resumed stirring the food in the pan. You let out a dry laugh before walking towards the barstool, dropping your things on the way towards it. You just wanted to rest. “There was a shooting again... I swear my father’s gonna have to start a jail just to hold all the men he's going to execute for breaking the rules” you moaned as you plopped yourself onto the tall barstool. Placing your elbows on the island, you shoved your face into your hands trying very hard to rub away the tiredness that laid in your eyes.
How You Meet-Marcus
You and a group of your friends decided to go to the beach for the day to celebrate the beginning of summer. You pretty much knew everybody except a few people your friends invited. Of these people there was a tall muscular guy. Someone called out, "Let's go!" and you all started to make your way down to the the shore. You set up your towel and umbrella and got settled, just watching and relaxing. A group of your girlfriends ran into the water, screaming. A few minutes later you saw someone step in front of you and you heard someone speaking.
"Hello! Mind if I join you?" it was the tall guy.
"N-no. Not at all," you stuttered.
He sat down beside you under your umbrella. "I'm Marcus by the way."
"And I'm (y/n)," you added.
"Very nice to meet you, (y/n). And thanks, too. I'm not into the the whole
'Yeah! Woo!' thing much," he said imitating the girls.
You laughed, "Yeah, me neither." You carried on talking about anything that popped up. Your daily lives, friends, hobbies, how you take your tea, and so on.
Later on Marcus said,"I really like you, (y/n). Can I see your phone for a minute?"
"Sure thing," you said, "but only if i can see yours." You both smirked at each other and exchanged phones. When you got yours back, it was time to leave.
"It was nice talking to you," Marcus noted and he walked off with his friends. You packed your things and trekked to the car where you noticed he had put his name in your phone as 'Marcus <3'. You laughed because you did the same to his.
