January Book Tally!

Okay. So one month down and I didn't do as well as I wanted but that's okay. I did pretty well, I just have to adjust my pacing!

Books:

1. Defiance By C.J Redwine. Book 1 of Courier's Daughter Series. (1/7)

I give this book a 3/5. It was a good read for the most part but it was very long and I feel like not enough happened to justify the length. I like the concept and the world that is being created and I will definitely be reading the sequel but it didn't thrill me like other books have.

2. The Lost Hero by Rick Roirdan. Book 1 in The Heros of Olympus series (1/15)

4/5. It was really good! It took me a little but longer than I care to admit to adjust to the different narrators throughout the book and I was definitely missing my loves from Camp Half Blood but I think the way that this book was written was really really smart! it got me invested in the new characters and excited to read the rest of the series.

3. Life Before Legend By Maria Lu Short story from the Legend Series. (1/15)

5/5. This little short story was wonderful to read. It expanded on the characters of June and Day and told stories that neither character would be inclined to talk about during what they go through in the books themselves. Very fun read.

4. Prodigy By Maria Lu. Book 2 in Legend series (1/20)

5/5. This series is wonderful. I am seriously loving it. The entire world that is created is amazing and the chemistry between June and Day is all but electric. I love the flow of the book and the distinct shift in voice, character, and perspective that you get when changing between June and Day. The characters are not perfect, they have so many faults that they continually butt heads against. I am very excited to read Champion.

5. Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter. Book 2 in Heist Society Series (1/28)

5/5. I love Ally Carter. Reading her books makes me so happy and I honestly have no idea why, but it always has, since I was in high school and first picking up Gallagher Girls. I am utterly addicted to the Heist Society series. This robin hood esque story line is one that I enjoy following and if nothing else, these books are just smart. The characters are intelligent and fun and I root for them to succeed in their criminal endeavors.

6. Allegiant by Veronica Roth. Book 3 in Divergent Trilogy (1/31)

4/5. I love this series. Probably more than I should but there it is. I have been hooked since the very beginning and I am heartbroken to see it end (and with how it ended). The only reason this gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because I had some trouble getting into it. I wasn't prepared to not see the story from just Tris's point of view and it took more a while it be able to stick with Tobias. I did get past that and became just as invested in this book as I was with the others. I will miss this series very much. BUT HEY- we get a move soon!
