Summary: Garling is sold off by his father to be wed to Imu-sama—King of the World. Most people would be thrilled by the idea of becoming 'Queen'. A chance to even see the King was greatly sought after. But Garling had no interest in this. His father schemed behind his back for political gain, as he always did. And now his father and the Elders wish for him to somehow bear children? He was a man, and that was absurd; he wasn't some 'breeding mare' for the King. He was a young, gifted Holy Knight who was quickly rising through the ranks. If he was Queen he would lose everything he had worked so hard for in his career. Yet he had no choice. Imu had chosen him, and his father agreed, sealing the deal.
But after meeting Imu, Garling finds that perhaps marriage isn't so bad; it has its perks after all…

Warning that this has lots of random headcanons and is absolutely NOT a canon-compliant fic. One major random headcanon is that Garling is bipolar (this originated from a previous headcanon that Shanks is bipolar, so I decided I wanted it to run in the family.) This is a fanon version of Garling and isn't super accurate to canon Garling. Also, the character Nyx is the one girl who's next to Garling in the God Valley incident who has black hair in the manga and blonde in the anime with the rose in her hair. (my first fanfic on tumblr. Garling finds out he's getting married, and the wedding day commences without much preparation.

The first day of Garling's supposed "honeymoon" starts to shed some light on how Imu will treat him in the future, and it's not how he expected.

Garling and Imu continue their honeymoon and get to know each other and their bodies. Garling begins to be restless and full of energy as he forgets any routine he had in place.

After the honeymoon had ended and having a full-blown manic episode during said honeymoon, Garling refuses to leave his bed or eat. Imu finds out the well-kept secret of the Figarland family's only heir. Garling is bipolar.

Imu helps Garling manage going back onto his medicine and a new routine as he must go back to his day-to-day life but in an all-new environment.

Despite losing Shanks, Garling and Imu must continue to parent Shamrock, and they have many little moments and trials of learning how to parent a little human that has free will. Sometimes certain grandparents of said child make things 10x harder and cause some unpleasant memories to be brought back up.
Chapter 14: Baby Boy (unwritten)
Roger is executed, and the news has spread across the world. But Garling hears different news at the same time. His second son is alive. Shanks returns home and has to adjust to life as a prince.

Corruption Sucks Ass: Shanks refuses to be a part of the corruption and leaves, no contact.
"It's genocide, and I'll be damned if im gonna sit here and listen to you trying to justify it!"
Corruption is Fucking Awesome: Shanks accepts the corruption and stays and becomes a Holy Knight (LAME 👎).
Neutrality: Shanks becomes a Holy Knight who is undercover as a pirate so that the government can pin their crimes on him so he can live his dream of becoming a pirate while also being free to see his family.
Corrupt Kings SUCK: Shanks leaves but has occasional contact with Shamrock and Garling but refuses to acknowledge Imu because of everything he did in his long lifetime.
A Better World: Shanks confronts Imu and Garling about the corruption among the government and says he cannot accept staying with people who support and encourage such a system. Imu and Garling cannot live without their child, a sign of their love. So they change. Shanks becomes a Holy Knight and works with his parents and brother to change the government itself as the prince of the world.
