Sanji

70s aesthetic for Sanji.

I like to think that Sanji moved on from those hyper-masculine, modern suits in muted colors—the kind celebrities wear to awards shows because they lack personality and don't know how to follow a theme—to a more colorful, cheerful aesthetic where he mixes clothing from different genres, because clothes are just clothes and aren't made specifically for one gender or the other.

You have no idea how hard it was for me to figure out the color mixing for this era—I think I nailed it... I HOPE I nailed it. There are two close colors and one distant one—to a lesser extent—to give it that "boom" effect.

I love bell-bottom pants, so you'll always see me drawing them.

I love prints, but I hate drawing them. Thank goodness for ready-made patterns—they're a lifesaver.

I love puff sleeves, but I think they might get a bit annoying when cooking? I have no idea; I don't usually wear puff sleeves when I cook.

I love 70s dresses. I think it needs a belt.

I think this type of dress—with sleeves that start at the waist—is more 80s, but I like them, so here we are. I love the incredibly vibrant mix of colors.

I look at a lot of magazines to see the fashions of different eras, although I love fashion magazines in their own right.

It’s the only matching set with low-platform shoes.

I love sets like that (top and bottom in the same print). Would I wear it? No. Do I love seeing people wear it? Absolutely.

Nami

Nami in a 2000s style.

Nami gives off the vibe of wearing any shoe with a platform—there she is, in sandals with massive platforms.

I try to maintain the beachy aesthetic, because we both know that bikini is NOT going to stay in place.

Capri pants, they haunt my nightmares. But it wouldn't be the 2000s without them.

I love the color combination, but Shaggy from Scooby-Doo is breathing down my neck.

A pair of white capris would look great with the first and last tops.

Mini skirt and boots—the best combination. I thought about high heels, but tall boots won out.

She needs a large belt.

Remember that outfit Regina wore in Mean Girls? Well, here we are.

Nami gives off low-rise-everything vibes.

A half-up ponytail, because it's great.

You know that feeling when you wear a hat for the first time and feel like everyone knows it's your first time wearing one? Well, the same thing happens to me when I draw hat.

That top would look amazing with long, straight-leg trousers, heeled sandals, and a high ponytail.

The flower design on Sabo's belt buckle matches the floral motif used by a lot of the other Goa nobles for decoration. It's a more subtle detail linking him to that group in addition to his top hat and cravat
