I don’t even remember when I started making this thing, but I downloaded the template from DeviantArt, so that should tell you a bit about how old it is lol

This wasn’t planned, and I think I only realised it would be the case like last year or something even, but this starts at the year I started taking my art more seriously than doodling on my school notebooks and ends at my last year* at university, where I’m getting a degree in 2D Animation. This is basically my entire journey to becoming professional artist.

(* = I was supposed to have graduated already, but COVID messed things up, and now I’ll be delivering my graduation project in two weeks. Either way, 2021 was my last full year as a student)

I’m not very good with words so I’m not gonna go on a long rant about this but yeah. It’s making me very emo.

ok so here’s what happened

the last drawing i posted was on august 25 2016

in october 2016 my computer’s hard drive had a problem

after almost a year i finally received the confirmation that i’d lost everything (well, actually i only really lost half of the stuff, the rest the dude managed to save but then FUCKING LOST IT

HE DIDN’T EVEN REMEMBER SAVING THE DAMN THING

i don’t think i’ve ever hated someone as much as i do this man

every time i remember this i want to cry for more than one reason)

among those files were all my digital drawings, the scans of my traditional ones and the files of the ones i colored digitally. through the time i was waiting for my hard drive to be saved i didn’t post anything because i didn’t want to post new art and then, after getting my stuff back, going back to post old drawings (which might sound like it’s my ocd speaking but like. this blog registers my progress as an artist, and a progress out of order doesn’t really make sense) - in my defense i did think this would only last a few weeks. lmao.

anyway, the last time i posted anything here i was a uni dropout (2 months of visual arts) with no idea what to do next, because there was no college here who offered what i wanted to do (illustration), and moving to another country in the middle of the crisis brazil is currently in would be hard to say the least.

BUT we ended up discovering an art school that had just opened in são paulo and offered an illustration b.a. (not recognized by the government but who cares, it’s a british school so my degree will be as if i’d actually studied in england).

and now i’m living alone in the other side of the country in the first of a two-year foundation course, and will start the illustration b.a. (which lasts three years) in 2019 (hopefully).

as for my drawings, i re-scanned the traditional ones i was yet to post and will be posting them as soon as they’re colored (and idk when that will be because now i have uni to worry about, so).

and that’s what you missed on glee.

(also: i probably won’t be posting much - if at all - uni stuff here, at least not for the first two years. the foundation course is intentionally very broad, so it’s very different stuff than what i like to do and post, there’s not even that much drawing.

i did get to make a scarlet witch shirt tho)
