the name of the idyllic fantasy land that My Melody and Kuromi live in is Mariland, not to be confused with the Northeastern state of Maryland

however, it’s really fucking funny to imagine them as Baltimoreans

bet yall didnt know that on top of being an amazingly splendid writer (exaggerating), im also a rlly talented artist (my old art teacher did not like mg art 💔). kidding btw im not actually this egotistical.

js thought id js share some random art project i needed fo do for my french class. we had to draw the verbs in action if ykwim.

u can def consider this fanart, since i dont own mariland or sanrio at all (who wouldve guessed), so yuh. im thinking about recreating this piece digitally too but im not sure.

i was inspired by the “new”-ish my melody and kuromi show on netflix. but i did also include other sanrio characters that werent featured in the show, but r still known for being friends with either of the girls.

(random but i am 100% gonna spread kuromi x my mel propaganda im sorry. ik theyre not rlly supposed to be a couple but IDC. let me have my bunny lezbeans. theyre such an iconic duo that theres and like kuromi gets flustered by my mel— ok ill stop lmk if yall want me to talk abt this ship in depth.)

I went and watched the first two episodes of the My Melody anime and here’s some of the weird junk that has gone down so far:

There’s just a giant horn causally in the sky that leads to the human world and nobody questions it

Mariland’s king took his soldier’s eyewitness accounts but not those of My Melody’s friends

In response to My Melody supposedly letting Kuromi escape, they send this sleepy, passive, and innocent bunny to go catch the criminal

There’s a blue James that plays the violin and almost every girl in school thinks he’s hot

The music teacher is a dork but he’s really nice I like him

Everyone’s first reaction to seeing Kuromi is to call her a stuffed animal and start manhandling her

The human protagonist’s dream is to play the violin well, so Kuromi brings her violin to life and everyone’s just watching this go down like “I guess this is part of it.”

My Melody fixes this by summoning a crab that chops the living violin’s strings off while it begs the crab to stop

These kids apparently have a lousy father considering that he went on a business trip and left them behind with no mother or other caretaker

Some kid wants to do better in school, so Kuromi turns his head into a computer and he becomes a straight up supervillain

My Melody fixes this by summoning a mouse that bites him right in the-

Apparently this blue James is evil now

It’s a good series so far I like it
