Plotlines/Ideas:
Mira:
Her hair is actually black, like the rest of her family’s, but she dyed it pink at a very young age with the help of her older brother. Her older brother is actually the most supportive of her out of their family, even though they still don’t talk much now. (However, when they do finally talk again, Mira asks him to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day.) Dyeing her hair pink was her first act of rebellion, and she continued to dye it different colors throughout her adolescence. She settled on the same bright pink color, mentioned prior, as an adult.
Jinu:
He was actually good at singing, his old singing voice being his normal VA. But Gwi-ma took that voice away and gave him a new voice (singing VA) to lure in souls. Gwi-ma also manipulated him into thinking he could never earn anything to give his family a good life, so Gwi-ma could turn him into a demon.
Romance:
His ex is a gumiho.
After Mystery finds out where he lives, it isn’t long before his ex does too. When she does, she makes sure there’s no one else around and SA’s him. Even though he isn’t Baek-ho anymore (physically), she knows that it’s still him deep down. After the fact, she does attempt to kill him once more, but is unable to as Mystery and Baby come back home.
[Based off of the song ‘Silver Spoon’.] As Mira and Romance get closer, he starts going around to their penthouse more and hanging out with the girls and Bobby. Gwi-ma has already been whispering in his ear to kill Huntr/x, but obviously he won’t listen. However, resentment begins to build (partially because of Gwi-ma) as he spends more time with them. He sees how amazing their life is. Yes, he is aware of their sad pasts, but they were able to grow and achieve this loving family dynamic. Which he still hasn’t gotten yet, despite everything he and his friends have been through. Gwi-ma sees this jealousy and takes advantage of it, corrupting Romance’s mind more and more.
The last time Romance is fully in control of his body is when he pushes Mira out of the way of an oncoming car. They had been arguing after he spent another dinner with her, the girls, and Bobby, and for whatever reason he finally snapped (Gwi-ma is currently pulling the strings). The argument continued as Mira was walking him home, but as she crossed the street, there was a car that wouldn’t stop. Romance saw this car, Gwi-ma would have gladly let the collision happen, but–just for a moment–Romance took control of his own body and actions and pushed Mira out of the way, taking the hit for her. He ends up in the hospital and when he wakes up, it’s not him anymore, it’s Gwi-ma.
Romance: “You said you would love every version of me, no matter what.”
Mira: “But you’re not ‘you’. You’re not my Romance. So… [slowly raising her weapon]
…Gwi-ma…”
“Where is Baek-ho…?”
Romance is trapped in his own mind, because Gwi-ma is in control. He is constantly plagued with his own nightmares. They feel very real, since it’s happening in his mind–which is where he is.
Chapter 1:
The first scene in the penthouse is right before they go to the sauna at the end of the movie (probably a few days–max–after the Idol Awards). At the same time, Romance is releasing his first solo song.
After the sauna, the girls run into some of their fans.
When they’re back home, Rumi is alone in her room and breaks down, missing Jinu. She believes that he’s gone for good.
The next day, the girls finally find out about Romance’s song, “GGUM”.
They try their best to ignore it, but it seems to top their song on the charts, making him #1. Mira in particular is suspicious about this, thinking he might still be working for Gwi-ma.
They decide to ignore it and just go out for the day. However, they end up meeting Romance and Baby at the convenience store.
Romance is left star-struck on the way back, and decides he needs to write a song for Mira, since he is absolutely head over heels for her.
Back in the girls’ penthouse, the girls are eating as Rumi is distant. She doesn’t know how to go on without Jinu.
We flash to Abby and Jelly in the demon world.
We then have a flashback of Baek-ho, Min-woo, Min-ki, and Zeyn. Baek-ho and Zeyn are arguing.
Romance is asking Baby which snippet of his songs would be the best to release as a song dedicated to Mira.
At the end of the chapter, Mystery is shown to be looking for Romance.
Chapter 2:
We open up to days later, Rumi is moping around in her bed in the morning. Quietly wishing to be able to hold Jinu just one more. Confess to him, like how she was supposed to if he was alive.
When she finally leaves the room, the girls are already in the living room, watching Romance have an interview with someone about his latest song.
Mira and Rumi have an argument over how to feel about Romance. Mira also feels betrayed that Rumi agreed to a collaboration with Romance, since they were still supposed to be on a three-month hiatus.
When Rumi goes back to her room, she finally cries. Not just about the argument, but about the pent-up guilt and remorse from losing Jinu.
There’s a flashback to a call between Rumi and Romance. He proposed a collaboration for a song, she asks why she should agree. He says it’s because they both want something from the demon world. He says that if she helps him get Abby and Mystery back from there, he’ll help her somehow resurrect Jinu.
The next day, Romance is at the penthouse to work on the song. Mira still refuses to work with them.
At one point, she begins to warm up to Romance, telling them some lyrics to add.
We get a flashback to how Jinu found the other Saja Boys.
After about a day or two, they’re in the recording studio. Mira ends up surprising them by agreeing to also be in the song. However, she was actually in the studio to record a single of her own–“Bubblegum Bitch”.
Chapter 3:
Both songs are released at similar times, “Bubblegum Bitch” just hours to a day after, and are competing for the top spot.
They were a bit hurt that Mira released a song without their knowledge, not because they don’t support her but because they thought there wouldn’t be any more secrets between them.
Soon, there is a live performance of “Touch” and Romance spots his ex in the audience. For the rest of the day he’s on edge, trying to convince himself that it was just a coincidence.
When he and Baby are on their way home, they feel like someone is following them. But it turned out to be just a dog.
Once they get inside the house, there’s someone sitting on their couch. And that person turns out to be Mystery.
We get a flashback to how Baek-ho met Min-ki and Min-woo.
Back with the girls, there’s tension between them all. Rumi is emotional because of Jinu still–of course–and Mira is upset that they didn’t even care that she released a song. Zoey just hates getting caught in the crossfire, thinking about her parents.
We get a flashback of her parents always fighting when she was a child.
Back with the boys we hear about what happened during the fight at the Idol Awards.
Chapter 4:
Rumi releases her own song, now that she has the courage to. It’s “In Another World”. Her idea originally was to duet with Romance for “Free”, but the idea was scrapped when she realized she couldn’t bear to hear anyone else sing his part.
The next day, Zoey brings the other two girls in to talk. So, they do. They all reconcile and hug it out.
The girls go to call Romance to see if there’s any luck with Abby, Mystery, or Jinu, but they’re already at their front door.
Romance and Baby reveal Mystery is with them, Zoey gets all flustered, and they sit down to talk about everything.
Romance still refuses to open up about hearing Gwi-ma’s voice in his head, worried it will ruin everyone, specifically Mira’s, view of him.
All three boys are drawn to Rumi, not in a romantic way, but as if they could feel a presence surrounding her.
When Mira and Romance are somewhat alone, she asks him if “Sugar” was really about her. He says it is and there’s an awkward silence between them for a moment before Mira goes back to her rough self.
Zoey’s trying to get as close to Mystery as she can.
Romance head starts pounding as he almost faints just as there is a disruption in the Honmoon.
Rumi and Zoey go to investigate, Mira decides to stay back with Romance, while Mystery and Baby go with the other two girls–hoping that it’s Abby.
When Rumi and Zoey conjure their weapons, suddenly she sees Jinu in the reflection of her sword. She thinks she’s just seeing things, but Baby tells her that Jinu is standing right behind her.
It turns out that the demon isn’t Abby at all, and it’s just the usual lower-class demon they have to send back–which Zoey quickly does as Rumi is shaken up.
When Rumi retracts her sword, Jinu disappears. So, she refuses to retract it now.
He promises to explain once they get back to the penthouse as he attempts to touch her face, but his hand passes right through.
Chapter 5:
At the penthouse, Jinu explains what has been going on. How he’s been watching Rumi from her sword–which is where his soul currently resides–making sure she doesn’t get hurt. He was sad that she couldn’t see him, but he was content with the fact she was safe.
He says he’s been starting to feel a disturbance in the Honmoon as well. Like it’s getting weaker. The girls don’t understand why, since they sealed it, and there are no demons actively trying to destroy it. (Romance is unknowingly breaking the Honmoon, since Gwi-ma is in his head.)
Mystery, Baby, and Romance all go home. When they’re all asleep, someone breaks into the house. Romance is awakened by that person–who turns out to be his ex–and is SA’d by her.
We get flashbacks to similar instances and all her abuse that happened before he was a demon.
Once it’s over and she leaves, Romance sits there, empty and not knowing what to do until morning comes.
Chapter 6:
The two boys find him in his room, unclothed and all marked up. They help him get dressed, comforting him, even though he won’t talk.
After some time, he finally speaks up about it and they conclude they can’t stay here anymore. So, they go back to the girls’ penthouse.
They ask to stay for the time being, and, of course, they agree.
A few days pass and Mira is getting closer and closer to Romance. She still refuses to admit she likes him, but everyone else can see the feelings develop.
She refuses to let him out of her sight, since the day he almost fainted and because of what happened in his home.
With Baby, he watches how everyone is paired up. Rumi has Jinu again, Zoey and Mystery are getting all buddy-buddy, and Mira is being protective of Romance.
We learn that he’s jealous of all of their relationships and how he misses how things were before the girls.
We get a flashback to how the original band was formed and Baby’s trauma.
With Romance and Mira, they both open up about their trauma. By the end of it, they’re leaning in and he asks if he can kiss her. Her response is a kiss.
Chapter 7:
There is another timeskip. Rumi loves that she has Jinu, but hates that she still can’t touch him and that fact he’s still technically dead. Mystery writes a song for Zoey, while Romance and Mira are now dating.
We also get a flashback of Mystery’s trauma as he’s writing the song.
Romance and Mira meet an “orphaned” little girl (in reality it was his ex’s daughter that she had just left for dead) and they immediately take her back to the penthouse.
Everyone begins raising the little girl, calling her their shared daughter.
Most of this chapter is just cute moments and them still trying to figure out how to get Abby back from the demon world and resurrect Jinu.
One of the moments between Mira and Romance: “I will fall in love with every version of you. Whether you are a romanticized idol that everyone adores, that broken singer that nobody bothered to notice, a broken boy, or a ‘monster’ that is out to kill me. I will welcome death with open arms as long as it’s you. I love you. No matter which side of you it is. I will continue to love you, even if you can’t remember what we once were. Even if you say you’ve become someone I ‘don’t know’. Even if you love someone else. I will simply love you from afar. I will love you for the rest of my days. Even if I know it won’t be for long. I hope to love you even after death in the afterlife.”
However, Gwi-ma is slowly taking more and more control over Romance and it leads to a big fight between them happening on a date.
Gwi-ma makes Romance call Mira by his ex’s name and she runs off across the street. A car comes in and, for a moment, Romance takes control of his body and ends up taking the hit for her.
Their argument had, once again, disrupted the Honmoon. But, this time, Abby and Jelly were the ones who ended up slipping through.
Chapter 8:
Abby and Jelly are struggling to figure out where the rest of the Saja Boys are, until they pass the entrance of the building where Huntr/x lives.
They’re all rushing out–the boys, the girls, and their new little girl–because Mira just told them what happened to Romance, just as Abby is walking past.
Jelly notices them and tries to get Abby’s attention, but he’s too busy moping about. The others don’t notice the two either, frantically piling into the car.
When they get to the hospital, Mira is practically sobbing next to Romance’s unconscious body and holding his hand.
She manages to compose herself long enough to explain what happened. They all stay with him for a while, before the group needs to go–since visiting hours are over and only one person can stay. Obviously, that person is Mira. (Their little girl wants to stay too, for her “Papa”, but she isn’t allowed to.)
When they all get home, they’re surprised to see Abby and Jelly just sitting on the couch of the penthouse. Bobby comes in from the kitchen to say that he found them in front of the penthouse looking for the other Saja Boys and let them in, since he knew they were trying to find Abby.
When he asks where Romance is, they have to break the news to him.
Abby is devastated and wants to see him immediately, but they tell him he can’t–since visiting hours are over.
Baby is silently getting jealous, but feels guilty for feeling this, since Romance is literally suffering in the hospital at that very moment.
They all spend dinner talking, finally telling the truth about everything to Bobby, and explaining everything that’s happened since then.
After dinner, Baby’s in his room talking to Mystery and Zoey. He reveals that he’s been in love with Abby since they met, but knew he would never like him back. For one, because he will only be seen as Mystery’s little brother, and because he likes–
–Romance. Abby’s in his room, talking to Jinu and Rumi about Romance. He explains that he’s liked him for a long time (since they had told him he and Mira were together), tried distracting himself with Jinu (which, ultimately, didn’t work), but still loves him.
We get a flashback to Abby’s trauma and how he met Romance.
Afterwards, we flash to the demon world where Gwi-ma has sent another band up to the surface (because of the combined frustration of Baby and Abby, and the weak state of Romance and Mira), PINKVERSE (their manager is Romance’s ex).
Chapter 9:
When Abby visits Romance in the hospital the next day, with everyone else, they see on the TV that a new girl group–PINKVERSE–has made their debut.
Immediately, they all have a bad feeling about this group. Since the last time a new K-Pop group came out of nowhere, they had been demons working for Gwi-ma.
Everyone, except Mira and Abby, decide to talk about it outside, since they don’t want to agitate Romance in this coma-like state.
While they conclude that it could just be a false alarm, they should still keep an eye on them, since demons could appear at any time. And if demons do appear, then that’s when they’ll finally start digging deeper into this.
Back in the penthouse, we get some Bobby and Jelly bonding time. We finally get Jelly’s name for real, because Bobby is the one who ends up naming him.
Mira and Abby argue over who gets to stay with Romance for the night, but Mira ends up giving in–just this once–only because Abby hasn’t seen Romance in a while.
During the night, he finally wakes up, and everyone comes rushing to see him.
However, Mira’s the only one who sees that there’s something wrong with him. It doesn’t feel right.
PINKVERSE is only getting more and more popular, and, trying to combat this potential threat, the Saja Boys decide to release their “comeback” song.
Mira’s suspicions continue to grow as Romance seems to be distancing himself more and more from her. Becoming a bit more aggressive when he does interact with her.
When their song comes out, they have an interview. The usual questions are asked: why did they disband at first, where is Jinu, etc. But then they ask about a picture that had been taken recently between Romance and his ex.
He smiles and confirms that they’re together, leaving Mira confused and heartbroken as she watches from the TV. Even the Saja Boys were confused.
We get a flashback to Mira’s childhood.
Her hair is actually black, like the rest of her family’s, but she dyed it pink at a very young age with the help of her older brother. Her older brother is actually the most supportive of her out of their family, even though they still don’t talk much now. Dyeing her hair pink was her first act of rebellion, and she continued to dye it different colors throughout her adolescence. She settled on the same bright pink color, mentioned prior, as an adult.
Chapter 10:
After the interview, the Saja Boys question why Romance said he got back together with his ex and if he’s really cheating on Mira.
He lashes out on them, which takes a toll on specifically Mystery.
We get a flashback to his past being his family’s scapegoat.
We get moments between Zoey and Mystery and they finally make their relationship official.
Mira asks Romance what’s going on with him, why he would cheat on her, why he’s been acting differently, etc.
Obviously, he lashes out at her and claims to have never even loved her, she was just a distraction for his “true feelings” for his ex, and that he didn’t need her anymore now that he had his “true love” back.
Huntrix concludes that they need to start writing songs again, to combat PINKVERSE.
Mira’s heart doesn’t seem to be in the song, as she is going through another heartbreak. She hasn’t felt so alone in a long time.
The girls try to console her, but she lashes out, telling them that they don’t understand. They have their lovers, she feels like she just lost hers.
Rumi takes the most offense to this, since she practically watched her partner die right in front of her just weeks earlier and never once did she act like this. However, she keeps her mouth shut.
Eventually, they released their new song “Peach Soda”. It does just as well as they were hoping, but it doesn’t seem to knock out PINKVERSE entirely. They suspect it’s because of how much more demonic forces are at play.
Chapter 11:
Their daughter, Yeon-ah, can just feel the oozing tension with everyone.
Romance and his ex come by to Huntrix’s penthouse to pick up the boys and move them to the mansion that his ex is providing for them.
His ex recognizes the child, claiming that she was hers and Romance’s baby before he died. She had been taking care of her before she went missing one day, claiming that Huntrix stole her daughter from her, specifically Mira.
Of course, his ex goes public with this information and Huntrix is under fire for this.
Yeon-ah is taken from the girls and goes back to Romance and his ex, Inari.
The Saja Boys are taken to the mansion and end up living with PINKVERSE, which they are less than happy about.
There’s a lot of arguing in the house, the girls making moves on the boys.
The girls are working on writing their new song with Inari, and Romance sneaks out.
“He” and Mira agreed to meet in the park, near the street where he got hit by that car, and she asked him what had been going on.
They have a bit of civilized talk before it escalates into an argument. “Romance” begins to try and manipulate Mira, but it fails.
Romance: “You said you would love every version of me, no matter what.”
Mira: “But you’re not ‘you’. You’re not my Romance. So… [slowly raising her weapon]
…Gwi-ma…”
“Where is Baek-ho…?”
We flash to Romance being trapped in his own mind, because Gwi-ma is in control. He is constantly plagued with his own nightmares. They feel very real, since it’s happening in his mind–which is where he is.
Mira raises her weapon, much like how she did with Rumi in the movie, but she can’t bring herself to hurt him. She knows her sweet boy is in there somewhere, she just needs to figure out how to free him.
She spares him, running back to the penthouse. Romance/Gwi-ma doesn’t go after her, just smug and doesn’t see the point in killing her. He wants to break them down all together.
Mira tells the girls (and Jinu) when she gets back that Romance is being controlled and that they have to save him.
Chapter 12:
We finally get a look into Romance’s head, and it’s an absolute hellhole.
In his head he doesn’t look like himself, he looks like how he was when he was only a human. He sees the current of himself as demonic (which is only somewhat true) and just a monster.
He also hallucinates the other Saja Boys and they are just absolutely bashing him. It’s all of his insecurities being blasted in his head while Gwi-ma takes advantage of this, piloting his body.
Gwi-ma, through Romance’s body, tells the Saja Boys that he will kill the girls if they don’t cooperate. He leads them into thinking that they’re just going to be stealing souls again, but, in reality, he was lying and that Huntrix is going to die anyway. He just needed a way to get them on his side. He also gets into Baby’s head specifically that he’ll take Abby away again if he refuses to cooperate. He does a similar thing with Abby towards Romance, but, for some reason, Abby was more concerned about Baby.
“...And Min-woo?”
Inari also has a weird infatuation for Gwi-ma.
PINKVERSE is preparing for their performance where they will perform their song and release their newest song “Call Devil”. Their ultimate plan to kill Huntrix first, not just steal the souls of the crowd. It’s more of a trap, rather than them truly trying to steal souls–even though they would enjoy that.
Huntrix learns about the upcoming performance and begins crafting a song to hopefully combat them. However, their heart just isn’t as into it as before. Mira lost Romance, Mystery left Zoey, and–for whatever reason–Jinu hasn’t shown himself to Rumi again for a while.
They all decide to try to relax instead, just for tonight, before they truly try to pour their heart into attempting to defeat PINVERSE.
Chapter 13:
It’s the night of PINKVERSE’s performance, and Huntrix still doesn’t have a completed song. They’re panicking, but they attend anyway, since everyone is expecting them to support their hoobaes.
They open up their performance with their first release from earlier on, PINKVERSE 핑크버스 '냉면 (2024 PINKVERSE Remake Ver.)' Lyric Video.
During the song, they see the Saja Boys heading backstage, and Zoey can’t help herself but to follow Mystery–even though the girls try to stop her.
She pleads with him to not listen to Gwi-ma again, but he doesn’t have a choice. Gwi-ma threatened Zoey’s safety if he didn’t comply.
Zoey’s heartbroken as the second number for PINKVERSE begins.
They are performing “Call Devil”, putting images of them seducing each of the girls’ lovers into their heads (Romance is caught in a “love triangle” between one of the PINKVERSE girls and his ex). It’s all hallucinations for them to lose their minds and “ruin” their performance.
When they snap out of it, the audience turns on them. They’re basically seen as “psychotic” for their outbursts–even though they forgot about their “breakup” on stage from the Idol Awards because of hunter magic(?) that sort of provides a veil.
Which they don’t have this time. Their powers are weakening because of all of their currently wrecked mental states.
We then see Inari again, and she practically blacks out the entire stage, and sets them all in a dark void.
Gwi-ma had insisted on having a “fair fight” before killing them.
The boys, specifically Mystery, finally learn that the promise of keeping the girls alive was all just a lie.
The PINKVERSE girls and Huntrix begin to fight.
Chapter 14:
During the fight, a sharp fan gets thrown at one of the PINKVERSE girls that is pinning Zoey down, grazing the girl’s cheek, before it returns to its owner. Mystery.
The Huntrix girls are surprised, because the weapon that he summoned glowed the same way their weapons did.
However, there isn’t enough time for questions as their fight continues on the stage. Abby and Baby don’t know what to do, as they’re standing with Inari and “Romance”.
Romance/Gwi-ma then tells Inari to threaten to hurt Baby, since he’s Mystery’s brother.
Of course, Baby complies, since Abby’s life is still at stake.
When Mystery sees what’s happening to Baby, he’s torn on what to do. As he’s about to go to Baby, a flash of light appears and it’s a chain knife from Abby being flung at Inari, wounding her.
As she bleeds out, her true form is revealed. She’s a gumiho. And she’s been feeding off of Romance specifically, weakening him so Gwi-ma could take over his body.
Abby takes Baby away from Inari, but the former is then grabbed by the wounded Inari. Of course, she still has some fight left in her–a lot, actually.
In Romance’s head, he’s practically watching the torture of all of his friends–and girlfriend–happening. We can see him fighting Gwi-ma inside of his head, trying to take back control.
When Baby sees Abby being threatened, his own weapon appears in his hand. He quickly goes to slashing her face, letting Abby escape.
Abby has to pry Baby off–even though the smaller man wants to stab her–seeing as she was already lying on the ground seemingly completely ruined, pool of blood under her face. He said they should be helping the others instead.
So, they do. But they lose sight of Mira, who had taken a slight breather when Abby had taken over fighting for her.
When Rumi seems to get cornered by the girl she was fighting, someone appears out of her sword. But he wasn’t glowing, he fully materialized.
He had glowed when he first exited the sword, just like usual, but, after a sword of his own formed in his hand, all the glow transferred into the weapon instead.
Rumi is in awe as her lover protects her.
But then they hear Mira’s screams, and it’s her trying to fight off Inari.
Inari’s face is all mauled, thanks to Baby.
Just as Inari is trying to steal Mira’s soul, a glowing pink arrow goes right through her head.
It was Romance. He looked drained, but he had gotten his body conscious enough to protect his lover, and kill the monster trying to take her life.
Since Inari is now dead, her magic wears off and they’re back in front of the audience.
PINKVERSE also seems to be removed from the spell of Inari.
They spare the girls and tell them to take Inari’s body away and go somewhere safer, since they still haven’t fully defeated Gwi-ma.
The audience is confused, wanting at least a song to play.
Obviously, the girls start singing the song that they had begun writing previously, to try and finally seal the Honmoon for good.
Thankfully, it did as the boys joined in. The Honmoon turned golden and Gwi-ma had been successfully removed from Romance’s body.
Afterwards, he faints from exhaustion.
Chapter 15:
They get Yeon-ah back, who finally calls them all her parents.
Everything is explained:
Jinu was able to live again through the “power of love”–okay, not really. Of course, he would have had the choice to become human after the Honmoon turned golden, but he materialized before that–despite only being a ghost previously. That is because of Rumi’s constant wishing and prayers that the gods decided to grant her what he wanted as she was on the brink of death (all beaten by one of the PINKVERSE girls).
Romance became the host for Gwi-ma because of how emotionally unstable he was.
The Saja Boys and Jelly were able to turn human again because after Gwi-ma essentially lost all of his power and died, all of those humans he had manipulated and turned into demons had the choice to either live again or ascend to their proper afterlife. Those whose souls had been taken had their life restored or also went to the afterlife.
However, they all still retain their demon powers because I said so (really, it’s because they helped seal the Honmoon, so they were allowed to keep all of their good demon traits). The Saja Boys have golden markings and Jelly has more blue-ish ones now.
Once everything begins to settle, Bobby offers to become the Saja Boys’ manager.
Jinu says it’s okay and he can do it instead. Romance argues that he can do it instead and that the boys need their leader, and that it isn’t him. The two bicker for a bit.
Jelly then steps up and says that it’s okay. The boys need both of them, and that they’re not complete without all five.
It is then revealed that Jelly was also once a K-Pop idol, much like Bobby himself and that he can at least learn to be a good manager for them under Bobby.
However, even more is revealed that Bobby and Jelly had been idols around the same time and had actually been a couple up until Jelly’s “death”.
He had been murdered, taken down to the demon world because of his contact with Gwi-ma. (He had never taken a deal, just had been in contact because Gwi-ma was bribing him with being able to happily transform him into a girl or anything that would have made his relationship with Bobby socially acceptable.)
He had actually been killed by a homophobic “fan”.
This was also one of the reasons why Bobby had quit being a K-Pop idol and became a manager. The other reasons were because he wasn’t treated properly by his own manager or his label. Also because Jelly’s manager could have totally prevented his death if he hadn’t been homophobic himself and given Jelly more protection from others.
Bobby had actually been harboring feelings for Jelly, but was too guilty to admit them. He felt like he was betraying his “old love”, but it didn’t even matter in the end because they ended up being the same person.
This chapter is mostly just tying up loose ends and making sure everything in the plot makes sense.
Chapter 16:
Pure fluff.
We get to see everyone getting married, having families (having kids, adopting pets), and continuing on as a co-ed K-Pop group.
They still do release songs as separate groups, and even as solo idols, but they get more joy in being all together.
Both Bobby and Jelly are their managers.
They also post covers together for fun.
Derpy was supposed to be the ring bearer, but Sussie had stolen the rings and was the one that gave it to them instead.
When Romance and Mira are getting married, her older brother is the one walking her down the aisle.
For once in public, Mystery had his hair fully combed back. He wanted to be able to properly see Zoey walking down the aisle.
Abby and Baby had to have a very private ceremony, since being gay still isn’t super accepted or even recognized by the Korean government, but they didn’t mind as they liked the privacy. Their relationship tends to be fetishized by fans.
Rumi and Jinu finally release “Free” as it had been intended. A duet.
At the very end, we can see that the story isn’t quite finished. We finally get to see Celine, who Rumi has refused to get back into contact with, and she’s with a familiar face.
She had seen Rumi’s dad when the Honmoon had first broken during the Idol Awards, but she forbade him to see his daughter, claiming that the girl didn’t ever want to see him.
Since then, he’s been watching over her from afar–thinking he’s respecting her boundaries.
But the two adults are now-having a conversation about how Rumi’s dad overheard her expressing the hope that her father was granted life again so that she could finally meet him. He’s (obviously) upset that Celine’s been lying to him.
The fanfic ends.
i may explain other plans i had for this fanfic series in the future. questions are welcome in the comments
