[ It’s a little late, but I told you it would be coming. For my favorite Jill and for the pairing I look forward to seeing on my dash each day. I love you, Lacey. You’re amazing. Both as a writer, and as a person. Don’t ever for a second stop being you. <3 ]

It took her by surprise, the cool metal sliding effortlessly between her ribs.
Fifth and six, her brain offered in the silence that had immediately preceded the action. Excella sputtered a laugh, spattering blood over the other woman's face. She'd had a feeling Jill would want revenge, oh she could couch it in 'justice' terms all she wanted later, but it was revenge pure and simple. For her capture. For her stasis tank. For her P30 injector.
Tottering on her high heels backwards off the knife, Excella allowed her chest cavity to fill with her own blood, hastening death as she fell to her knees.
"It feels good, doesn't it?" Her voice was quiet, but the meaning behind the words rang loud in the expanse of her office. Briefly she pondered how nicely the red blossoming on her chest complimented the fabric.
"The power."
Life left her body with a smile on her lips and her thumb on her phone. The screen blinked rhythmically.
VIRUS UPLOAD COMPLETE...DELETING FILES...
TriCell would live on without her, in the event of her death it transferred to Alexia and Albert, and they'd never be able to pin a thing on her.
Forgive me.
Forgive me: I will write a drabble about my character forgiving yours or vise versa.
Sheva stood over a grave. “Loyal soldier, trusted partner, beloved brother,” it read. Chris Redfield, born 1973 - died 2015. Guilt hit her like a freight train. The agent had been buried now for an entire year. Sheva had resigned from the BSAA, taken up a career with the US government. She had cut her ties with those she had become close with. Namely, Jill Valentine.
Never in a million years had Sheva believed that her gun would be the one behind the death of Christopher Redfield. He was her friend - her confidant. They had been through Hell and back together and… well, she had to face it, parts of both of them had stayed in that Hell-ish nightmare.
But Chris had changed. He was violent, he drank so often, and one night in December… She had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. She had tried to help, but only made things so much worse. Chris was not himself. He had attacked her, and Sheva was left with no chance but to defend herself.
She would never forget the look in his eyes when the bullet hit his chest-buried itself into his heart.
Just like that a hero, dead. And by no other hand than his ally… his friend.
Her hand shook as she laid it upon the cold granite of his tombstone. “Chris…” Sheva whispered, her voice dry and wavering as she held back tears. So much regret had been pent up. In the eyes of the law, Sheva had been cleared. In her own heart, she could never forgive what she had done.
"What are you doing here?" a voice came from behind her. Sheva turned around quickly, feeling terrible that she let herself get caught here. How dare she mourn the death of a man she killed?
Jill Valentine stood before her. And to be honest, Sheva expected an expression of utter hatred and anger, but her face seemed to be filled with shock and… abandonment. Chills ran up the former agent’s spine, “I… I shouldn’t be here.” She shook her head and began to walk away slowly. But she needed to say just one thing.
She’d been meaning to say it all this time, really.
Because if anyone had been hurt most by Chris’ absence, it was Jill. “I’m so…. so sorry,” Sheva muttered, keeping her eyes on the ground as she carefully stepped away from Jill.
"Wait!" Jill called out though, and Sheva froze in her path. Slowly, she looked up to the blonde, but was not quick to react when Jill threw her arms around Sheva in a tight embrace. Confusion struck her, laced with shock and utter disbelief. But gently, Sheva wrapped her arms around Jill in return. She closed her eyes and buried her head into Jill’s shoulder. "I am so sorry," she whispered again, tears burning her eyes.
Jill only hugged Sheva tighter, "Shhh. I forgive you, Sheva... I forgive you."
[TEXT] Jill, are you free sometime this week? I could do with having a private chat with you.
He's probably wrong, she knows that but still, it doesn't hurt to check.
