I don't think I've ever made a poll for this(either on Tumblr here or on my DA), but since I've made similar polls for my other story-universes, thought I should make one for Hue Shifters!^^

I know this universe is not as developed or fleshed out as my other ones, but I'm still curious to hear if anyone has any answers!

Been playing around with this super cute picrew this past weekend, and I made some of my characters from all my stories in it! For this story, I did Hyacinth’s group.

It was super fun trying to recreate them all in it! Hyacinth was probably the hardest to make in it, mostly because I couldn’t give him his hooves and figuring out his hairstyle was also a bit difficult, but I did my best. I think everyone else came out pretty good, though! The only extra details I have is that Maris’ tattoo would actually be on her right arm and there wasn’t a teal color to give to Azure’s clothing(so he got dark blue instead), but other than those I like how they came out.

Pokémon Crossover AU

Been working on some Pokémon crossover AU ideas for all my stories lately, mostly starting out as just team ideas for my characters before I thought about how they would fit into the world of Pokémon. Since the Hue Shifters characters here come from a more “fantasy” setting(though it is modern/contemporary fantasy), it has been an interesting challenge trying to translate them into the world, but the biggest challenge was because they are all supernatural creatures/monsters themselves. I tried looking up to see if they exist in the Pokémon world but I couldn't really find anything, so I just omitted that information for the moment and tried my best to still make them fit in the world. If that all makes sense! One extra detail about this AU in particular, but I decided to give Coral, Saffron, and Primrose all one bat Pokémon each, since they are all vampires and it was just fitting.

. One day when he was a kid he followed his sisters into the woods on a search for new Pokémon, but soon an accident happens that causes him to not only get separated from them, but have him eventually wake up in a new location with little memories of the event

. He has spent the rest of his life since then scouring the depths of each region, hoping to find his sisters again

- Azure

. Works primarily with psychic types, but does work with some water types due to growing up near the ocean

. On his team he has Primarina, Bruxish, Malamar, Espeon, Medicham, and Overqwil

. Grew up in a very big and dysfunctional family that made him all the eager to get out and travel as soon as he could

. Starts off battling and making many rivals, before eventually becoming a successful coordinator and model, seemingly doing a lot better in life now(though he still feels like something is missing in his life)

- Coral

. Works with a few types, but primarily enjoys dark and flying types

. On her team she has Gliscor, Raticate, Murkrow, Mandibuzz, Grimmsnarl, and Hitmonchan

. Second-born daughter to a powerful crime syndicate, growing up she always felt overshadowed by her older sister

. Due to feeling like she doesn’t quite fit in with her family and being seen as an ‘outcast’ by her peers in the community she grew up in, when she was old enough she abdicated her role in her family’s organization to instead focus on battling and becoming a champion

- Maris

. Works primarily with water types

. On her team she has Wartortle, Golduck, Omastar, Cloyster, Kingler, and Milotic

. Started off as a researcher before getting interested in journalism

. Often goes undercover to investigate the larger crime teams of the world, planning to use her findings to not only alert the public, but hopefully get the more powerful ones taken down

- Saffron

. Works primarily with fire/fighting types

. On his team he has Golbat, Emboar, Infernape, Skeledirge, Ninetales, and Scrafty

. Doesn’t have any super big aspirations in life, mostly just plays video games and do fun and cute internet things with his ‘mons

. Cousin to Coral, becomes more interested in participating in actual battles thanks to her influence

- Marigold

. Works primarily with fairy types

. On her team she has Florges, Dedenne, Ribombee, Hattrem, Beautifly, and Vespiquen

. Comes from a very rich and powerful family, had a lot of pressure put on her to succeed which caused her to run away one day, where she then bumps into some older kids with “scary” Pokémon that thought it would be funny to rough her up a bit(this is where she gets her scar)

. After that she wanted to build up her physical combat and Pokémon battling skills to ensure it wouldn’t happen again, but her true interests lie with modelling

- Gracen

. Works primarily with rock types

. On his team he has Onix, Golem, Rhyperior, Marowak, Excadrill, and Golurk

. Second-born son of a rich but humble family, he never stood out much compared to his ‘flashier’ and more successful brother, but doesn’t mind as he prefers staying out of the spotlight

. Had a close relationship/crush situation with his childhood best friend Amethyst, but after she goes missing one day he becomes a lot more withdrawn as he feels a part of him is now missing

- Primrose

. Works primarily with poison types

. On her team she has Swoobat, Venomoth, Seviper, Sneasler, Salazzle, and Drapion

. Eldest daughter to a powerful crime syndicate, has been chosen since she was young to become the next leader someday

. Always charismatic and well-liked, she has won numerous contests and showcases but she is also a strong trainer in her own right too, as she was expected to become strong at Pokémon battles to help ensure no one can threaten her family’s business

Makeup Looks: Hyacinth’s Group

As I have done these for the main characters from my other stories, it is only natural that I do the ones for this story! This is essentially a new mini series of mine, of exploring the makeup looks of my characters beyond the brief description of them in their fashion posts. I hope you enjoy~ :3

- Hyacinth

. Hyacinth wears no makeup, as he does not have the time or money to, nor does it really suit his tastes as he has more important things on his mind than looking good

. However, he does have one vague memory of attending a royal party when he was a child, in which he did have light, decorative face paint to show pride for the event and his kingdom

. This was just some swirly flower designs by his eyes, as the event in question revolved around the spring season

- Azure

. Azure enjoys wearing makeup, whether for his modelling shoots or just for fun

. His usual look consists of light concealer and foundation, natural eyeshadow, and sharp and striking eyeliner

. He does also tend to wear dark teal or smokey eyeshadow when spending a night out on the town, and for his modelling shoots he will match the style and color of his makeup to the clothes he is to be wearing

. For nails, he likes to keep them medium-length and sharp, usually painted either plain black or teal

- Coral

. Coral likes wearing makeup, finding it fun but she doesn’t wear any to her matches

. Her daily look consists of sharp eyeliner, mascara, dark pink lipstick, and natural eyeshadow

. When she wants to go for bolder looks she will wear either shimmering dark pink or orange colors, and enjoys any product that sparkles

. For nails, she keeps them short but sharp, and loves getting them done with bright colors and fun designs, particularly liking glitter polish

- Maris

. Maris is not super into wearing makeup, since it would just get washed off whenever she is underwater

. If she does wear it, then she only uses waterproof products

. Except for formal occasions where she would be more inclined to wear more, her normal everyday look is just mascara and lip gloss

. For nails, she doesn’t mind getting them done and usually keeps them short and square-shaped, and she loves experimenting with different cute beach and tropical designs

- Saffron

. Saffron doesn’t really wear makeup, but he does like wearing eyeliner to make his eyes sharper

. He also doesn’t consistently file his nails so they could be any length at any time, but they are sharp and he does like painting them with simple black polish, not minding if it gets chipped

Hue Shifters Fashion Posts: Maris Gorman

Continuing on the main characters’ fashion posts, we have one for Maris! Her style was fun to think about not going to lie, though I had a similar situation like with Coral’s where I didn’t know what exactly her style would be described as, but I think I figured it out. I hope you enjoy! :3

Maris’ style can be described as casual but with tasteful revealing elements, as growing up near the beach she is used to showing off a lot of skin. Crop-tops, tube tops, bandeus, bralettes, front-tie shirts, button-up shirts to be more professional for her dream career as a journalist, cold-shoulder rompers, two-piece short dresses, and shorts ranging from denim styles high-waisted, and loose athletic ones. Prefers halter necklines and backless styles with her tops, and usually has some sort of sheer overlay element for a sense of modesty with her shortest tops. Both growing up near the beach and being a naiad, she has quite a few swimsuits, with her favorite being a two-piece with high-waisted bottoms and a top that ties in the back. For footwear she only wears sandals, owning several in a variety of styles but her favorite includes white-strapped ones and gladiators, but she only wears those ones for special occasions.

For colors, she sticks with a fairly light and cool color palette, with a majority of her clothing being in some shade of blue. She usually opts for lighter blue shades most of the time, but she does have some pieces of clothing in darker shades. Other colors she wears include light and muted greens, green-blues, or teal, though she wears these colors mainly as accent pieces, with her preferring white over black. Material is usually light and breathable but textures vary, with her having a soft spot for lace. She comes from a middle-class family so a lot of her clothes are either hand-me-downs, bought from thrift stores, or the local stores from her hometown, but as she is currently working in a department store, she has gotten some good deals from her job to get some more expensive clothing on occasion.

For accessories, she doesn’t own too many but she does tend to wear them a lot. Her main ones include her smart watch, beaded bracelets, and beaded anklets, with her preferring shell and ocean motifs in them. She does own a couple gold cuff bracelets, and one simple gold chain necklace. Owns a few pairs of belts, usually in plain white or leather but one does have a decorative shell buckle. Has several piercings, with her preferring simple studs, but she does make an exception for gold hoop earrings and her navel piercing jewelry being a dangly gold clam shell. Although they are not an accessory as she needs them to see better due to poor vision, she does prefer wearing glasses over contacts most of time, except when swimming or some formal occasions, with her preferring thin square-shaped or horn-rimmed glasses in black or blue colors.

For her hair, it is naturally straight and she keeps it long, keeping it down most of the time but she likes putting it in ponytails, braids, or giving herself beach waves. Dealt with a little bit of acne when going through puberty, but she has managed to keep it under control and she always makes sure to keep her skin clean and moisturized. Not super into wearing makeup since it would just get washed off whenever she is under the water, but if she does wear it then she only uses water-proof products. Except for formal occasions where she would be more inclined to wear more, her normal every-day look is just mascara and lip-gloss. Doesn’t mind getting her nails done, with her keeping them short and square-shaped, and she loves experimenting with different cute beach and tropical designs. Doesn’t wear perfume or body fragrance often, but when she does she likes hers in more ocean-y or tropical scents.

Saffron is Coral Rogue’s cousin, their respective fathers being brothers though since they are from a lesser clan Coral’s father took his wife’s surname upon their marriage. He has always been close with his cousin Coral, the two practically growing up together and have been mistaken for ‘twins’ at times with their closeness. A kind of awkward but well-meaning lad, a little all-over the place but that is mostly because he is not sure what he wants to do with his life just yet. For now he mostly is just laidback and goes with the flow, doing whatever his friends are doing and just living life in the moment. Has a liking towards internet culture, be it trends on social media or the like, and has started up his own gaming channel for fun when he’s not working his third shift job. His favorite types of games to play are adventure or battle-type ones, and sometimes he’ll feature his friends or cousin as a guest on his channel. One day when he is chilling on one of his days off from work with his cousin, she mentions briefly about this new ‘group’ she joined with Azure. After asking her more of what it is about, he becomes intrigued at the group leader’s goal and goes to join her on the next meeting. While he is hesitant to fully join, he does act as an ‘aide’ to them, doing little errands for the leader and sharing any information he comes across that is helpful towards him and his goal.

Since I made a similar poll a while ago about trying to figure out what Saffron's potential partner should be(species-wise), I thought I should do the same for Maris' potential boyfriend! These are based on two personalities I had in mind, as well as two different monster species I was thinking about, too. A lot more context is in this post if you want to check it out to get a better idea before voting!

I also added in a "poly is the answer" option just because! I'm not too sure on it yet myself, but I do admit it could be interesting and at the least, it would be a good opportunity to work with more poly pairings.

Even if you are not the most familiar with my character Maris, it would still be a big help if you could vote anyway! You could think of this instead as which personality + monster combo you like better :)
