i started this out as just somewhere i could put my random thoughts + musings, and never thought it’d get this much attention! thank you all so much for 8k! 💌

no bc this genuinely hurts a lot like inuyasha as a series is so near and dear to my heart and despite everything sesshomaru’s character arc was my favorite in the whole series. i love found family so much in media and sesshomaru caring for and platonically loving a little girl who lost everything despite his initial hatred of humans and them formed a little found family w a-un and jaken...it was so so special to me and now it feels like that’s all been undone

a huge part of why rin and sesshomaru’s relationship in the main series was so meaningful to me was because it wasn’t a romantic relationship. it showed that not all relationships, especially m/f relationships, have to be romantic for them to have significant impact. something i’ve always said and something i’ll keep saying is that platonic and familial relationships are just as important and meaningful as romantic ones! those kind of relationships should not be viewed as lesser just because there’s no romance involved. rumiko could’ve easily have made it so that sesshomaru’s character development and the gradual change of his feelings about humans was a result of him falling in love with a human woman just like his father did, but instead she chose to have it be the result of his fondness and non-romantic relationship with a little girl who showed him kindness when he told her to leave him be. and, at least in my opinion, i think his story wouldn’t have been as impactful as it was if it had been the former instead of the latter.

okay real talk though it’d be really cool if they showed inuyasha and sesshomaru either have a Talk or like slowly mend their relationship??? like they don’t even have to become super close or anything i just wanna see some sibling moments with them i think it’d be Neat

anyway! wanna make a quick post since i got a few anon asks that got me fired up: yes i ship inukog. i ship them seriously. not as “comedic relief” or “something to laugh at”, i genuinely like their dynamic and i genuinely like the idea of them being together in a relationship/dating. yes their dynamic can be silly and funny but that’s not all that the ship is. im tired of lgbt pairings being treated like jokes or not being taken seriously like why tf is it so hard to believe that i genuinely ship them or any other lgbt pair for that matter? and i do like inukag but i cant stand the shippers that have been getting on me for shipping what i ship, even if i didnt ship inukag who cares???? not everyone has to be a fan of ur canon het ship god it’s already canon and the biggest ship in the fandom just leave ppl alone lmfao
