This time Henry gets transported to the world of Kindred: The Embraced.
He is of the Venture clan of vampires and is the current Prince of San Francisco.
To set things up, Julian was told of Henry's arrival by a psychic while he was at one of his clubs. They were guided by spirits so they were very subtle and once the message was relayed the psychic didn't even know where they were and walked away with their life. Lucky them.
He was told that his visitor would appear on the bench outside of his home.
And so night after night, right after he awakens and prepares for the evening, he spends around 10 minutes looking out at the bench. It takes 3 and a half months for his special visitor to appear. In that time, he made arrangements to have free time to play host. Barring an emergency, he should not be interrupted.
On the night that Henry arrives, Julian was just about to finish his vigil at the window. He saw that Henry truly did appear out of nowhere. He got on the phone and implemented his vacation protocol.
He goes out to meet his new visitor. After opening the gate he invites his new visitor to come inside.
Henry is wary. He has to be, he isnt used to interacting with other vampires. But Julian gives off the air of nobility so he goes. They flash their vampness at each other without bearing their teeth, almost as a show of mutual respect and power.
Once they get into the house, Julian asks if his guest was hungry. Henry declined as he had just eaten before being transported.
Julian introduces himself by stating his name, his clan, and his title of Prince. Henry introduces him self in name only, because he doesn't have a clan. Julian accepts this as well as Henry's black eyes, because he knows that Henry is a visitor from some other place. This Henry must be important if he was heralded with enough time for Julian to make proper preparations.
He asks about where Henry is from and how his world operates. Henry obliges.
Julian is honored to be in the presence of a vampire who is that old, but appalled at the solitary nature of Henry's kind. He could never imagine going through the world alone like that.
It was now Julian's turn to explain his world and he does, in great detail over the course of the days Henry is there.
He goes into all of the clan, their disposition, their strengths and their weaknesses. He even goes into The Masquerade and the seriousness of it. Which is why there were so many preparations made for Henry's arrival.
This fascinates Henry because he could never imagine vampire clans and structure. It inspires him with new story ideas.
Henry ate what was presented to him, which was gorgeous and delicious. He listened to Julian, and he draws as they converse.
They both got the tell tale sign that their time was almost over.
Before Henry was whisked away Julian told him that he had the Bearing of a Ventrue with the heart of a Toreador.
This makes Henry smile and ask if that was a compliment. Julian told him to take it as he wished. With that being said, Henry disappeared. Julian put the art Henry drew away in a safe for he treasures the gifts that they are and goes about his business.
Henry starts working on a new series of books that are very popular by the time he completes the 6th book of the series.
