The Real Reason Kieran Was Sold To The Hunt
Adrien sighed and looked away. Kieran stared at the man wide eyed. The man smiled, he didn't look any older than Kieran. Mark looked between all of them in confusion. "Well met Mark blackthorn. I am Cedric of the Shadow Court." Mark clasped his hand, inclining his head. Kieran finally seemed snap out of the reverie he was in, "Ced, what are you doing here?" Mark tensed. Kieran seemed almost wounded. What had Cedric done to him? Adrien sighed and leaned back further against the pillar behind them. Cedric smiled at Kieran almost apologetic. "I am sorry Kieran. I didn't kn—" "Why are you here Cedric? We are already in a precarious situation to begin with, involving the Shadow Courts would not be beneficial." Cedric's cornflower eyes snapped to Adrien. "I came because my help is beneficial. The scrolls the Nephilim found are a spell from the Shadow Court. I am the only one of us who could decipher them." "How did you find us?" Asked Kieran, Cedric looked back at him. "The scrolls are tied to emotion Coal. One of the Nephilim children touched it and I was able to see." Kieran swallowed he had seen Julian touch it last, "What did you see?" He whispered. Had he seen the pain he had inflicted on the innocent? Cedric's eyes held a storm of emotions before quickly being reigned in, "I saw a nightmare." He spoken softy, his voice breaking for him alone. Kieran stiffened, a nightmare because he had acted like a monster. Adrien sighed and pushed off from the wall disturbing the moment. "Well come Cedric let's put you to work." "You mean allow me to help?" Adrien glared back at him, Mark flinched he'd never seen anyone look so angry. "Don't push it imp." Cedric only sighed and followed him inside. Mark looked back at Kieran, but he shook his head. Not here, not now. They met hours later in the night. Mark closed the door Kieran's back was to him. He stood by the window, the moonlight making him look ethereal. "I will tell you this, but any questions you have I will not answer. Ask Adrien." Mark swallowed Kieran using his court voice always unnerved him. "Okay." Kieran relaxed a little, his hands clenched the window sill, making his knuckles look almost translucent. He shook his head as Mark hand came toward him. Mark instead settled for having his back to the window and watched Kieran. "He was the reason I was sold to the Hunt Mark. He is the only other person I would have ever given my heart to if I hadn't met you." Kieran finally turned to him, the silence between was suffocating. Kieran's eyes were blown wide like the torn night sky after a bloody war. Mark swallowed, he knew he needed to say something. Something to show he wasn't angry. But the emotions surrounding him were messy and confusing. He settled for, "Thank you for telling me Kieran." Kieran gave a curt nod and turned and walked away from him. "I'm sorry Mark, I am. I wish I could answer your questions, but I need to have something that is mine, that I can treasure." Kieran opened the door and left. Mark slid down the wall. His knees tucked around him. He hated he couldn't protect Kieran, hated how little power he had. But mostly he hated how someone could have had laid claim to Kieran's heart beside him. He was selfish, yes he had moved on. It was a farce, it wasn't real. He could never love Emma or Cristina like that. Not like he had with Kieran, he had been free with him. He hated how someone had touched what was his, had caressed and traced patterns on something that might not be his anymore. He pulled himself tighter, he felt the guilt crash down on him. How dare he be angry when Kieran had been cheated twice? Had been ripped away from the two things that had made him smile?
Headcanon: Max II falls for a faerie much to the chagrin of Alec and amusement of Kieran and Magnus.
Kieran maybe introduced them at a revelry?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They blazed across the sky searing their names in the stars.
~ Mark & Kieran’s realtionship in the Hunt
Kieran Headcanon
He somehow loses his immortality (maybe saving Mark or Cristina) and he becomes either a mundane or a half Shadowhunter/Fae. And then Mark and Kieran ride into the sunset together. I can hope okay! These two deserve to live happily ever after!!
Mark and Kieran are the best!!
This book is amazing!! Has a darker edge than TMI. I love it!! These two are my OTP for DA. I hope to see Keiran again. He's amesome. (Just finished the coat scene though I know he does something bad that gets Jules and Emma hurt....)
Nantahala Cascades Mark Kieran takes a low water run down the Nantahala Cascades.
