yeah like im a cancer technically but do NOT see myself as a cancer. i dont think i have pretty much any of the attributes. but i dabble in witchcraft and it seems to work for me even tho im literally just mashing stuff together and BELIEVING real hard

exactly. the subconscious is an extraordinarily powerful thing, and when you combine confirmation bias with the psychosomatic effect and the morale boost that comes from seeing positive change, casting a spell has a literal effect, even if the mechanism isnt what it appears to be on the surface. Intent gets the ball rolling and belief acts as a catalyst and magnifier, which, iirc, is like 90% of chaos magic.

actually, one of the key elements of my belief system is that "magic isn't real, but if you believe in it hard enough it becomes slightly less fake" which, in the case of astrology, is backed up by the fact that people who put more stock in it are more accurately described by it because their identification with their sign affects their thoughts and behaviors to some degree, just like any other identity component does.

oh, yeah, im totally eligible. the phones suck though, and for now even my piece of shit is better, partially bc its got all my contacts and a bunch of pictures and a camera, even if its low-res af

Yeah idk anything about the whole obamaphone thing. I had actually considered it a couple years ago but didnt have any info on how it worked. Im also lucky to have a relatively "well paying" job considering im a janitor and college drop-out.

yeah, i dont have that. ive worked a grand total of 3 days in the last 3 years and have no significant work history from before that. (plus the whole trans, disabled, and latinx thing)

I use trac phone’s “ bring your own phone” service. Its like 45 bucks a month for unlimited text and talk. You supply the phone, and depending on the model and whatnot, you just put in their special sim card and it just works. Idk if that helps or is even remotely affordable for you. But i think there may be some similar cheap services like that.

yeah, sadly thats not even a little bit possible. i use a slider thats like 5 years old and responds to my inputs ~70% of the time, but it's on my mom's plan so i dont have to pay for it. when it finally gives out, or when she changes her service, ima be on an obamaphone.

Yeah i know that feeling. The only reason i have one is because somebody gave me one for free. I thankfully have people in my life who help me out occasionally.

i mean. technically i have one too. i just dont have any money to get it working. ive never even turned it on.

this is true. still, it’d be really nice to have meals sometimes that dont involve sliced bread or powder and boiling water.

specifically that post was about me thinking about the fact that despite being in my mid-twenties, i have almost no idea how to use a smartphone because ive never had one
