Ya’ll mind if I spit a lil Headcanon about my son & daughter—

So of course its canon that Marky is jealous of the way Terra was raised (both loving parents alive, off world, spoiled princess, etc.)

But I HC that TERRA is also jealous of MARKY to a degree.

Even though Marky doesn’t have the ‘Prince of the Viltrumite Empire’ type lifestyle; he has the Earthly life and community. He has his stepfather Scott, his little sister Molly, The Cha Twins; Abraham & Mary, Lucan’s kids, ALL of Kregg’s kids, his grandma Debbie, and a ton of other faces from throughout the series.

(I also hc that William works as a Medic for the GDA & therefore tends to Marky’s medical issues a lot. So they’re close too).

Marky has the life that Mark and Eve had.

The point is; Yes, Terra has Mark and Eve. Yes, she has Ursaal. Yes, she’s the Champion of the Viltrumites… But she’s also the Emperor’s Daughter. She’s a princess. Everyone looks upon her for example and leadership. And that can be so damn isolating.

Even though she and Ursaal are friends; there is, and always will be, a power imbalance from Terra’s birthright. When it comes down to it; if Terra gives an order— Ursaal must follow. The same goes for anyone else in the Empire that Terra were to make friends with.

And off world friends? Good luck. They spot her and immediately recognize her for who she is; Invincible. Daughter of the Viltrumite Emperor: Mark Grayson. She can never get away from it if she tried. Everything she does is under a microscope.

Marky doesn’t have to deal with that. She sees that Marky has friends. Real friends that don’t have their shoulders squared and back straight when speaking to him. She sees that Scott doesn’t watch every move Marky makes when he’s in costume with expectations: only concern and love. She sees how he goes home to immediately be greeted with Molly jumping into his arms. She sees how he can fly out to visit Kate Cha & Immortal, and be welcomed by them as if he were their third child.

No one bows to him. No one shrinks below his gaze. No one has a seed of fear in the back of their minds when it comes to him. Because to everyone; Marky is just… Marky. He’s their son, their best friend, their big brother…

And then there’s Terra… Daughter of the Emperor… lonely upon her throne…
