Jave, (yah-vah) my gryphon character.

Jave and one of my human characters, Julia, were close at a young age before the war separated them. Jave was seized by Marowic soldiers, because of his Aarthenian heritage, before he was even able to fly.

He was imprisoned and forgotten for ten years. When Cori and Adri make it to Maroway later in canon, Cori and Julia visit the prisons for reasons I won’t disclose yet. Jave recognizes Julia by the sound of her voice when he hears them from his cell… so he calls to her. When he’s finally set free, he’s thin, unkempt, and unable to fly, but eternally grateful to his rescuers.

The drawing above is Jave cliff diving after Adrianne, the princess of the Heartland. This is during the battle to liberate the Heartland from Aarthenian rule, when Adri nearly falls off the city wall… And Jave, despite being almost completely flightless, leaps to her aid.

Mind you, Jave is Aarthenian himself. Most rock gryphon tribes live terribly close to Thades, the Aarthenian capitol, meaning that he, like Maxis and many others, is fighting against creatures of his own race.

Slowly recovering from the loss of my save files and whatnot… Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Meanwhile… Tambolin sketches. Tams are one of my species and probably the ones I’ve managed to flesh out the most. They’re a Marowic species but are found in a few other places, like Mirraige, which is right next door.

Tams are tough-skinned and persistent creatures. They’re very much like ferrets in their behavior, challenging everyone they meet and treating everything like It’s a game. It’s very tough to physically hurt a tam or break is fighting spirit. They’re incredibly stoic and resilient.

Not only that, but they’re resistant to poison and acidic materials, so they will. eat. everything. Literally. Nothing fazes its stomach, so poisonous plants, carrion, leather, tainted water, venomous animals, etc. mean nothing to them. If they do encounter venomous animals and a bite actually manages to pierces the skin, they may be in trouble. Neurotoxins they can handle, but the modified enzymes meant to destroy muscle tissue in many snake venoms can prove to be a problem. It’s difficult to get through to a tams skin, though, and snakes are rarely a problem for them.

When they stop for a snack, they basically just eat whatever happens to be around them at a given time. If they can, they will catch and eat live prey.

Their throats are guarded by a thick scruff and the tough fur all over their bodies. Their skin is very loose and stretchy. Their faces are otter like, though they don’t have whiskers. And they have structures on their paws similar to opposable thumbs… Look up panda paws for an example.

Edit: I forgot to explain the significance of that last pic XD a little joke I have with myself is that Anthino has a pet Tam, and although they are occasionally kept as pets by richer families who have money to spend on damages, Thino doesn’t particularly care for animals and would never get a long with a Tam. He’s got the money to support one, believe me, but he’s far too serious and the whole interaction would just be hilarious XD so there he is yelling at Chachi, his theoretical tam, for eating his house keys.
