My Take on: Marron
Here's how I plan to portray Marron in my DBZ WIP, Dragon Ball Jisedai, that takes place after the events of the Buu Saga, incorporating my favorite parts of GT, Dragon Ball Super, the non-canon movies, and other things I enjoy from the franchise overall.
19 years old at the start of DBJ
Marron's currently enrolled in university as a Fashion Merchandising major, following 18's footsteps, who's a very famous fashion model turned successful fashion designer mogul.
Initially, right after the events of the Buu Saga, Marron took an interest in martial arts, especially after witnessing her mother in the World Tournament, learning her father's former training, and witnessing two of her closest friends at the time become exceptionally powerful as Earth was in grave danger. She wanted to be stronger, she wanted to defend herself.
Marron would have Krillin show her the basics, then move on to spar with either her mother when she had the time, Master Roshi, Videl, or Android 17 and the Cell Juniors (who were explicitly told to take it easy on her) on Monster Island. For a human, she had shown some serious potential. Krillin was envious, he wasn't that strong when he was a kid.
She'd also start sparring with Goten and Trunks whenever their parents planned play-dates.
During their last, 3-way sparring session, she had overheard a comment from Vegeta, stating that "despite being a mere human whose power would never rival a Saiyan's, her training was admirable".
He didn't mean for it to be an insult, but to Marron, that meant she'd be a defenseless weakling forever. Since that day, Marron stopped taking her training as seriously as she had been.
Occasionally, Krillin might convince her to have a recreational 1-v-1 at his and Videl's dojo, but her strength and power has since stagnated. At the moment, she can still fly and might even be able to pull off a small ki blast on a good day.
Viewing herself as weak, Marron would unfairly resent Goten and Trunks and grow more distant with the two. They were/are still friends, but they weren't as close as before. Both of the two would be concerned, but Trunks didn't exactly know how to confront/comfort her. Goten had a suspicion, considering the self-esteem issues he's facing with living in his family's shadow, and would make attempts to reach out. He was semi-successful, but Marron wouldn't allow herself to be vulnerable enough to fully elaborate on what was bothering her.
As for Bulla and Pan, they viewed her as a older sister figure who suddenly deemed herself too cool to hang out with them. Thankfully, Bulla and Marron shared other interests outside of martial arts, but as for Pan, she was practically shunted as her love for fighting grew with her.
She shares Bulla's and 18's love for fashion, and is always down for a haul, especially if there's a sale. She can also be a bit materialistic.
She's still the very nice and usually upbeat girl that they grew up with, though the upbeat part might be a bit forced nowadays.
Marron's a bit airy but she's not stupid.
And while Marron may seem to be all sunshine and rainbows, she knows how to stand up for herself and how to let her opinions be known, she is her mother's daughter after all.
Marron can be very blunt, not in a rude/intending to be mean kinda way, she'll just tell it as it is. Though, that isn't to say she won't hit below the belt if she's angry/provoked or if it's aimed at someone she isn't fond of. She'll more than likely apologize later though, depending on the circumstances.
Marron understands that despite her disdain of martial arts, it's a huge part of Krillin's life. She still goes to the World Tournament to watch Goten, Trunks, Bulla, Pan, her uncle, and her parents and friends compete. It's still mostly fun to watch, even if she's a little jealous.
She's close with 17, his wife, and her cousins Nimu and Genome, who are like her annoying, younger brothers, and are currently training at her dad's dojo.
Marron also has a secret fascination with weapons, particularly with guns. She wonders if she could capture energy in some sort of bullet and fire ki-charged bullets.
She still refers to most of the Z-Fighters as Uncle/Aunt (insert name).
