Goku: You wanna go to McDonald’s, son? I’ll get you a happy meal.
Gohan: Dad, I’m 25.
Goku: So you don’t want apple slices and nuggets with a toy?
Gohan: …That would be nice, actually.

I should probably post more, ahhhhh post 😭😭😭
Whenever people bring up the "can X character beat Goku?" hypothetical, it always revolves around modern DB power, like SSJ4 and Ultra Instinct, which makes sense since theyre the recent top tier power levels in a shonen sense. but the fact is, Goku aint been at his A-game since OG DB. Since like, you gotta remember, Dragonball started as another Toriyama gag manga, similar to Dr Slump.
Goku is a gag character who transitioned to a shonen fighter since fighting was more fun.
THAT is terrifying. Goku can still apply to gag manga rules if he wants to. Bullets have no effect on him, but he will scream in agony if you hit him with a small rock.
Goku is like an anime Hannah Montana, best of both worlds, a jack of all trades. He can be a cheery funny gag character when he wants, and a serious fighting protagonist when he wants. Like, one of his most famous fighting styles is biting people. He bites Frieza, he bites Buu, he bites Beerus, he bites Whis.
Goku is one of the strongest fighters in all of anime, he can take the punch of a God, or all the condensed evil in hell and not even flinch, but his wife Chi Chi, Bulma and Arale can whoop his ass because its funny.
Basically the answer to any "can X character beat Goku?" revolves around the answer "would it be funny?"
Thanos from MCU? There's nothing funny there at all, Thanos loses.
SpongeBob? Incredibly funny, SpongeBob would blow a bubble that looks like a bus at Goku and he'd be launched back past the horizon and you'd see a nuclear explosion happen.
And like the most stereotypical ones of Saitama and Luffy, thats like a draw, they all have the half and half of shonen and funny. They beat the shit out of eachother and then the next scene is them bandaged and bruised in an Applebee's chowing down on endless appetizers together, then immediately back to fighting.

My Take on: Bulla Briefs
Ultimately, if my version of Bulla doesn't piss off the dudebros, then I'm doing something wrong lmao.
This pertains to how Bulla will be portrayed in my WIP, Dragon Ball Jisedai.
13 years old at the start of DBJ, she's a year older than Pan.
Initially, she wasn't very fond of sparring with her father. But Vegeta stressed with Bulla and Bulma on the importance of Bulla learning the basics at the very least in case she needed to defend herself.
At what Vegeta thought would be their last session, he told Bulla that if she didn't want to do this, she didn't have to. A week later, he'd find himself speechless as little Bulla surprised him with a jump kick in his abdomen. The two continued sparring, so long as Vegeta taught her how to fly and if he could make her stronger than Pan (he loves her competitiveness, and the competitive aspect of their friendship). Nowadays, she does it as a workout and to spend time with her dad.
She's also grown to love fighting, just not as much as Goku or Vegeta. She'd never admit it though.
Bulla would transform into a Super Saiyan for the first time when she was ten years old, playing around with Trunks. He took one of her dolls and consistently teased her, and eventually, she snapped. Neither of the two told Vegeta, Bulla wouldn't want Vegeta to amp the sparring session difficulty. So instead, she and Trunks have secret sparring sessions without Vegeta.
Many people assume Bulla's a spoiled, materialistic, vain little rich girl who loves shopping for the latest fashion must-haves. And though there is some truth to that, Bulla's very loyal, sentimental, and supportive of her friends, family, and other loved ones.
Bulla is also protective of said loved ones. One should not cross anyone Bulla holds dear to her heart, less they wish to feel her wrath. And whether that be verbally or physically will entirely depend on Bulla's mood at that moment.
Arrogant to a fault, this and her witty, snarky tongue is bound to get her in trouble with the wrong person one of these days.
With Vegeta's and Bulma's tempers, Bulla was destined to be quite a firecracker herself. She, however, is a bit more patient, and doesn't share the same short fuse.
Bulla also inherited Bulma's intelligence and her love for science, especially for robotics and aerospace engineering. The spaceship used mainly in the Galaxy War Arc (and briefly in the Baby Arc, the Saiyan War Arc, and the Hirudegarn Arc) is one she's been working on since she was 8 years old.
Bulla is eager to prove herself as a fighter and a scientist, and often hates how she's perceived by those who don't know her, and shares her disdain for being underestimated with Pan.
She isn't as boy-crazy as her mother was, but she does develop small crushes rather quickly.
Bulla also loses interest in boys just as quickly once she realizes they don't meet her standards. She knows what she's worth.
One guy she hasn't gotten over is Son Goten. Educated (or at least in the process of getting educated), strong, kind, and cute, he ticks all of her boxes and she's smitten. However, she's too young for him and Goten views Bulla as a sister.
Her crush on Goten is an open secret amongst the Z-Fighters, almost everyone except Goten, Goku, and Vegeta is aware of how Bulla views him.
When she's not working on spacecrafts, or new inventions, or training (or shopping), she's designing training gear and gi for herself and others. She even has her own custom Saiyan armor fit in red that she plans to wear for the Junior division of the World Tournament at the beginning of DBJ (and gifts Goten and Gohan with new gis a day prior).
She loves and is proud of her Saiyan heritage and often asks Vegeta about the culture and history of the Saiyans.
She's surprisingly forgiving and open-minded, given the former villainous nature of her father and some of the company that her parents keep.
