Hi! so I was wondering how aspects that cotradict each other actually work? For example my main aspects are sun conjunct mars and sun conjunct SATURN! All the interpretations I´ve read say that I´m assertive and full of energy but sun conjunct saturn makes me reserved and controled and I just don´t know anymore I feel like they contradict each other too much! so please could you tell me your opinion about this?
Physical life, here on earth, is duality. It’s contradiction in order to learn how to balance, how to go beyond the duality, and see the connection- the unity. So yes, astrology does contain many contradictions, especially when looking at aspects in a chart, because we are complicated creatures, we are pulled many different ways. It’d be too easy to say ‘this is exactly what I want and everything else adds to this and nothing contradicts it’! We have to learn how to work with our energies, and thus creativity occurs!
As for interpretations contradicting each other: people use their energies in many different ways. Free will resides of course. So someone with a specific aspect may use differently than a different person with that same aspect- that’s why it’s important to know the modes of each planet, sign, house, aspect, etc. for a clearer way of how it manifests.
Sun conjunct Mars with Sun conjunct Saturn (assuming Saturn and Mars aren’t conjunct) can definitely pull you in two directions. One one side, you want to be cautious and controlled, on the other you want to be action taking and maybe even destructive! You have to learn how to integrate them both into your personality- how can you take action in order to satisfy your Saturn but not repress your Mars? Perhaps it’s working extra hard on a project you feel will benefit you and further your career. Perhaps it’s creating a routine for yourself that involves exercise and getting that energy out, but is still a routine, therefor satisfying Saturn. Look at yourself and your current mode of action and see what works and what doesn’t and where the two planets mesh.
