Mydhilde Saturday Featurette: “Meet the Marsh Weck”

Lurking in the watery swamplands of Mydhilde, the mire-drenched Marsh Wecks harvest unusual ingredients for their bizarre concoctions.

Marsh wecks enjoy submerging themselves in swamp water, and sampling poisonous mushrooms that grow in the Wetwood. They’re immune to the poison’s damage, but subject them to a dizzy, drunk-like state, and causes them to become addicted to the poison.

Their knowledge about the effects of mushrooms and other poisonous flora and fauna aids their skill in brewing powerful potions. They’ll use special brews for retaliating against foes, which consist of growing special mushrooms that deal a variety of attacks. Some mushrooms will spit spores before evaporating, some may explode on contact, and others may cause negative conditions, such as rashes or drunkenness.

The Marsh Weck makes her clothes from various plants in the swamps. She decorates her head with a large lily, and cloaks herself in a dress made of moss. Their body and clothes absorb water easily, keeping them wet and invulnerable to fire. Their diet also makes them invulnerable to nearly any negative conditions.
