Day 76 – I am seeing the road as it is and not as I dreamed… ⚡️ There is a turning point in our lives when we see the road ahead as it really is. We dream about the paths and we agree that they will be up-hill, but we think of them as smooth and well paved. A lot of people have gone before us, so the path must be clear. 💪 The paths, however, may need repairs. The people that have gone before, used quick fixes to sheer-up the trail for a short time. But, those repairs become aged. By the time you get there, the path is unsafe. 👍 You have decisions to make: You can turn back and look for another path. You can brave the danger, jump over the damage and proceed on you your way. The third option however, is the leader’s option. y 44 – I am selling potential… What am I selling when I talk to people about my leadership business? It’s easy to get trapped into selling a mastermind class, a lunch-and-learn, a leadership-game, or a coaching session. I become focused on the end-item. ⛵️ But, if I am selling a book, am I selling the book or what is inside the book? If I am offering a class, am I selling a class or what the class can do for you? 🚣‍♀️ Is a picture of a sailboat at anchor, a sailboat at rest or a sailboat full of potential? If you invest in a ride on that boat, what are you investing in? A boat sitting still, or the potential adventures the boat may take you to? Should I sell you a boat or the potential…? ⛵️ First Law of Boat Ownership... Day 43 – I am sharing my adventures with friends… 🥔 This is my friend, Spuddy Buddy. He loved to be up on deck seeing all the sights and helping us sail the boat. He is from Idaho and has his own Facebook page. Spuddy goes to many interesting places and has lots of adventures. 🥔 I notice, however, that no matter where he goes, there are always people with him. That is an interesting fact about leadership. It's a team sport… you can’t be a leader without a team to lead. Another fact is, you do not have to be in charge to be a leader. Leadership is about adding value to others. Day 42 – I am close-hauled… 🌊 When the wind is in your face, the only way to move forward is to find the edge of the wind and use it. You can always turn around and sail with the wind, but to get to your destination, you need to learn to be ‘close-hauled.’ ‘Close-hauled’ is that line on of the edge of the ‘No Go Zone’ that allows you to sail towards the wind. Cross into the ‘No Go Zone’ and you stall. If you stay out of ‘close-hauled,’ you end up taking the long way around. 🌊 This is a scary point; when the boat is closest to its max potential while being closest to it point of failure. Day 70 – I am seeing value… ☕️ Do you invest in yourself? The main reason people don’t invest in themselves is they don’t see the purpose. Why invest, what is it going to do for me. I am not worth it… I don’t have the time, the money, the resources to get better. Do you think this way? 🍰 What do you invest in? Computer games, videos, movies, the $7 cup of coffee...? Why? Because, you earned these, right? 🍿 Question: Is the time, money, and resources you invest in these items because you find them of value? 🍻 So, look in the mirror. Is that a person of value and do you value that person more than the cup of coffee? Choose to spend the time, money, and resources investing in something of real value. That would be you! 🏋️‍♀️ The only person who can invest in you, is you.
