Call me a hater all you want, but right now, I'm just disgusted.
As a movie lover, a fellow artist, and especially an animation student, who knows how much time and effort goes into those goddamn CGI effects, and how overworked and underpaid those artists are, sincerely - FUCK YOU, TAIKA.
They could have painted Chris Hemsworth green, given him a black wig and used the actress’s voice over his and it would’ve been better than whatever the fuck is going on with the She-hulk skinny arm sim CGI
Ok but like TECHNICALLY what is wrong with the cgi in She Hulk? I genuinely think it looks good given the project size and crunch the artists had to pull off thx to the execs
The “crunch” the artists had to pull off is exactly the problem. When you make CGI artists work insane hours trying to meet impossible deadlines for shit pay, of course the end product is going to look cheap and unfinished. Marvel should be prioritizing quality over quantity and giving the artists more time to work on these projects, which they clearly aren’t right now. Compare the CGI in She-Hulk to the CGI Marvel had 10 years ago, and you can see the downgrade. It literally looks like something out of The Sims. Hell, The Sims has better graphics than what we’re getting.

the effect of marvel is so funny like one time I was talking about doctor who with a friend in a marvel server. and another server member popped into the chat while we were talking about an episode where there’s a horse on a spaceship and asked how they cg’ed a horse and a spaceship in 2005. and i was like ”they didn’t… they just built a spaceship set… and brought a horse on it”. im not kidding when i say i think about this daily
