this makes me so upset. ran was the one to remember masumi first, she figured out that she had seen both her and mary.

mary, who was an adult, when she met her the first time.

she has so many evidence that some “adults turned into kids”. there’s so many elements that support her deduction. yet gosho aoyama holds her back. she’s so smart and strong, it’s so unfair to ran’s character to make her clueless until the end.

her birthday is the perfect opportunity to make the audience aware of her knowledge of conan’s identity.

it’s the perfect opportunity to solidify her suspicions but not letting shinichi be aware of it. just like the desperate suspicious arc.

the fact that this poor lover boy is sometimes CLUELESS about what’s going on in ran’s mind, marks a great ground for ran. she can actually wait and decide when to step in the climax of the bo takedown.

also, as long it pains me, she has the opportunity to confront him for good, when she thinks it’s the right moment. gosho could write a great final arc for ran (and her relationship to conan and what he did) but HE KEEPS HOLDING HER BACK. what do you mean she can’t remember who mary is???? she has the greatest memory among all the characters. she can remember small details but not a person, especially masumi’s mother, whose she loves???
