There really was nothing that Alice loved more than to hang out with her friends. She didn’t have a huge circle, but that was okay. She had good and deep friendships, and that mattered more to her than the number. Having a small number meant it was better to keep track, and that was handy for Alice whom was a workaholic. She sometimes struggled to have a good work life balance, and sometimes neglected her friends. So, having a small number of friends with whom she had genuine and deep connections, was something Alice appreciated.
Tonight, she was hanging out with one of her longest friends, Mary. The two had been pretty great friends at Hogwarts, having been in the same year, even if different houses. Their friendship had stayed strong through the transition into adulthood. She was currently lazing around on her friend’s couch, listening to Mary play her piano. Alice smiled, reminiscing of their days in Hogwarts, where she’d try to hardest to study, but would just get distracted by Mary’s playing. Nothing had really changed so it seemed.
“You really should start playing for more than just me you know”
