Philza’s Mask

Uses: when worn, this mask gives two big nebulous wings strong enough to take off and fly for a short distance. As a bonus, the surrounding birds will be attracted by the mask presence and can offer their support if they sense that the wearer is in danger.

Con: its power led quickly nauseous and dizzy feelings, and extended use will cause the wearer to pass out. Taking off and flying is particularly taxing for the user.

Wilbur’s mask

Uses: using this mask will enhance the charisma and make anyone notice and listen to the wearer. The mask helps in finding the right word to pass a message and move the people to their cause. It’s really effective for manipulating and for gathering information. To the audience, the user will look like a strong-willed young man with dark hair, and they will only be able to recall a blurry face after the encounter.

Con: the mask is mentally exhausting, and with the mental fatigue Wilbur’s taunting voice starts to blend with the thought of the wearer. Prolonged use can lead to severe confusion, stress, panic and dissociation.

Techno’s mask

Uses: with this mask the user will have their strength and their speed enhanced; their instincts will be sharper and their reflexes top notch. Its abilities will help the wearer in combat situations and get out of conflicts.

Con: this mask power can be really harsh on the body, it tends to go beyond what a human body can endure and lead to great fatigue and injuries. If excessively use, that can lead to irreversible damages to the body and even death.

All masks have a spirit attached to it, they can appear if they want to those who are close to their mask.

Wilbur was the first to appear to Tommy, Philza the first that wanted to help him and “adopt” him, and Techno the last to manifest.

The three disaster masks (mask!au)

Three masks with devastating power, whose maker is unknown. 

Elusive maskseller, he is often seen traveling with his collection of masks.

- Necromancer: he can revive the dead but it comes with a price, and use corpses as his puppet.

- Maskmaker: he can trap spirit inside a mask. If the spirit used to have a special ability while alive, the mask will be enchanted. 

- Clairvoyance: he can see and interact with spirit, he also can differentiate and locate people born with special abilities.

Smooth talker and incredible destructive individual, they are calling themselves the Egg. 

- Mind control: Been only capable to communicate via telekinesis, they know how to mentally exhaust their victims enough to make them vulnerable to their influence. 

- Fire resistance and TNT immunity: they’re resistant to damages, and are always seen wearing netherite armor

- Phytokinesia: they are controlling big heavy vines at will

- Spirit corruption: death doesn’t free the spirit from their control. If those corrupted souls are trapped into a mask, it becomes corrupted too. A wearer with a corrupted mask makes them vulnerable to the Egg influence. Yeah, Dream is really not fond of them. 

Who is under that mask? :)

The most dangerous of all the mask, immortal and all-powerful with god-like power. They don’t move around a lot (luckily), because nothing can really go against their will.

Okay so I have a question about the Mask!Au- can tommy like, ducktape two masks at once to himself to get both the perks, and would it work or not, like if he had techno and philzas masks? I a horrible quality visual on how it may look :

This is extremely urgent and I need to know 👁👁

(First of all, thank you for the drawing, that was awesome to see it in my messaging box)

This is something Tommy will definitely experiment on, so here are the results:

- for the situation 1 (the one you described) the masks aren’t directly put in front of the face so they won’t be activated.

-for the situation 2 only the mask touching the skin will stay in place and be activated. The second one will fall because nothing is holding it in place.

- for the last situation, the mask touching the face will be activated, and the second one will be forcefully staying in place. The second mask power will interfere with the one under, like it is trying to be used but can’t, and will generate a really unpleasant feeling for every party involved (wearer and spirits). When Tommy tried it, he got a sharp headache that lasted almost a hour. Techno didn’t appear during that time period. Philza was a little confused but still there.

I just saw your mask au and read through all your posts and I just kept thinking. Now I have an au of your au, for you of course.

So dream gets his hands on ghostbur like you said he would, and remakes the mask, but Tommy isn't exactly happy that his friend/brother was taken from him, so he tries to steal it back. Dream catches him as he grabs wil, but Tommy has enough time to put the mask on and before he even thinks he's talking.

"Let me work for you!"

And dream stops.

Dream is just so confused for a moment. And then Tommy and Wilbur come up with an idea together.

"The masks are unhappy. They're always bored. They can't do anything on their own and you can't wear them and help them do shit because you're always wearing your own mask, but I can wear them. I can help them do things and keep them company while you do your own thing. The mask are still yours and they always come back to you, but they're not so needy anymore."

"And what do you get out of this supposed arrangement."

"... the occasional meal. A safe place to stay if I need it. Permission to use the masks and help take care of them."

Because Tommy is a little shit, but he has learned to love the masks.

I love the concept omg. Tommy been a little apprentice to Dream. The both of them going on crazy adventures because peoples want them dead.

Tommy slowly been adopted by the dsmp cast. The drama between each ghost, their unresolved past or trauma. Tommy helps some of them with their resentment against their killer, their past enemy, for Dream that put them in this situation. Slowly, Tommy learned how to use each mask, helping him in various situations, and learning more about Dream and his past.

Omg I can see so much potential in this, I love it. An AU of an AU. I really love this actually.

Hi! I really like your mask au! It's brilliant! I was just wondering, do you have plans for a Karl and/or Gnf mask? If so do you mind sharing what their powers are?

Hi !! I'm happy you do, thank you for telling me!

For now (it can change!) I have no plan for Karl's mask and a few ideas for the gnf mask. I like the idea of him being the first mask Dream makes of the dsmp crew, and the both of them being close before Georges prematurely dies. I don't want to explore too much on it, because the ideas I have now may be obsolete later!

But I can say that Dream clearly cares about him, you'll see often Gnf mask close to him.

Concerning their power, Karl mask would let their wearer time travel in the past for a short period; the cons being it could lead to more or less temporary memory loss, amnesia, personality disorder; the effect would be greater the most far back the time travel is, or the longer the user stay in the past.

For Gnf mask, I'm thinking of the power to induce sleep, lethargic, or even hypnotic state to their target, and the cons being that his the user is not careful, they can fall to their own sleeping spell, putting them in danger, the more extreme case induce a coma-like state. But! It may change later!
