How do you read the letters/numbers? The point of a pendulum is a swinging motion, so wouldn't it just look like the guide/power you're tapping into is hopelessly drunk?
Not really! You’ll find that it’s not entirely uncommon for pendulum boards if you look up some other designs.
It’s important to remember that you are the person who is ultimately in charge of how the reading is interpreted. Just like other spirit work or divination, you set the ground rules for how the message is supposed to come through. (Like tarot card spreads arranged in a certain order).
With the board I created in particular, I would likely set the rule that each letter or number is only counted after a certain number of swings or with each new swing after the pendulum after it has previously returned to resting at the center.
So, for instance, the pendulum swings towards the A, ignore the backswing and count 2 more complete swings, the first letter it swings towards next - L - would be the next letter in the sequence!
The pendulum swings towards A. Wait for it to come to rest. Then it swings towards the L.
You also have the power to say “We’re working with the outer ring of letters” or “We’re working with the third inner ring that says ‘True or False’” in order to assure that whatever messages you’re trying to receive aren’t garbled. And if you’re working with an outside force that isn’t paying attention to your ground rules, that’s something that you need to hash out with them.
