Loz still loves Avifer
Avifer ~ Paradise Song Fic by LOZ
Avery may not be able to remember her younger years, when she looked like a 16 year old human, wings still vibrant and mind still young. She may not be able to remember the different angels that visited her village with messages from Michael, that were relayed to the Harpies who lived there. She may not be able to remember her first encounter with Gabriel, or Michael, or Raphael. But more importantly, she couldn't remember her very first encounter with Lucifer.
When she was young, she wanted to view all, go everywhere, see the entire world and have it show her a way. But, Michael wouldn't have it. She was his best and brightest, and he wasn't going to allow her to let her abilities go to waste. But she still dreamed of what the world would be like, what the vast plains of Africa would feel like under her feet, what the airs of the Amazon would feel like on her wings. She dreamed of the paradise that was out there, that she wouldn't reach with her hands.
When she was just a girl She expected the world But it flew away from her reach And the bullets catch in her teeth
Over the next two years, she held onto the dreams of the paradises, but grew stronger with each passing day, soon trumping a lot of angels. Without warning, she had been sent to main land Greece. Michael had warned her that his brother had found a momentary way out of the cage, and was on the loose. This meant she had to find him. Sure, beating Gabriel once or twice was a stroke of luck, but Lucifer? She felt like Michael was sending her to her grave, and those Paradises would be lost to her
Life goes on It gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear, a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly.
Thunder and lightening racked Greece's black skies, causing Avery to jump. Thunder had always been a fear of hers, even though her people were storm-spirits. Sleep, in the small amounts it ever came in, was hard to claim, but eventually, she slept, the dreams of Paradise returning. Only in the morning would they be washed away by her journey to look for a fallen archangel.
And dreamed of para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh She dreamed of para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.
When Avery woke to continue her journey, the storm still rumbled on, making her final walk into Athens weary. She could tell he was here, the air had a biting chill more than that carried by the winds. Before he fell he was known as God's most beautiful creation, but how sure of that she was, even she didn't know. She came across an old building, sigils carved into the stone. It was an old Men of Letters house, now ravaged by time. He was in there. The cold was stronger there. She pulled her wings around her, making it look like some sort of cloak, and pushed inside. The first sight she caught was black. The old windows were blocked out years ago, apart from one, where she saw a figure standing.
So lying underneath those stormy skies. She said oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. I know the sun must set to rise.
It was him. She couldn't find herself the strength to move forward, so move to the side, behind a rusty chest that was almost ready to crumble to dust. She knew he knew she was there, but still the moderate safety of behind the chest offered strange comfort. She had been told to inform Michael as soon as she found him, but no prayer to the archangel was heard, just the breathing from the two figures. Hers was more rugged than his, due to the thunder rumbling along, causing her breath to falter every now and then. He was calm though, and his calmness was oddly worrying.
This could be para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise This could be para- para- paradise Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh. This could be para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Could be para- para- paradise Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh. This could be para- para- paradise Para- para- paradise Could be para- para- paradise Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh. "I've been expecting you, Avery"
