Watch out! This mammoth is gonna bring you to your DOOM! Or is it called that because it’s already reached its doom? I dunno! Regardless, this is a really dang cool design! Elephant skeletons are weirdly absent from media as a whole, and I especially wouldn’t expect to find one in MARIO, where there aren’t many prominent elephants to begin with!

Of course, the bone trunk here is entirely fantastical. Ain’t no bones in a wacky tentacle nose! Mastadoom looks like it just shoved another spine into its nasal orifice for dramatic effect. And also to look more like an elephant, because real elephant skulls look nothing like them! I really don’t blame those ancient Greeks for mistaking ancient elephant skulls for cyclops skulls with that big ol’ nasal orifice!

I could have sworn Mastadoom was emerging from a tar pit, but it seems like just water. Weird. But I guess water is a solvent after all! Let this be a lesson. Don’t stay in the water too long! It’ll dissolve your skin and leave you a sentient skeleton with an extra spine!

I had a really difficult time trying to draw this. I'm still not entirely satisfied with the shape of its 'face', but I'd rather move on to drawing something else.
