Master Kiprun. He’s an alchemist. He’s rude. He’s trans. He’s short. He blew something up and asked for a pay rise. This man is a gift.

This is a master Kiprun appreciation post. I’ve only read one chapter with him in it, but he is amazing. Such chaotic researcher energy. The man managed to find his place in court and now gets annoyed when anyone tries to pull him away.

I like the implication that Master Kiprun realised he was trans later in life. He already had widespread fame as ‘Mistress’ Kiprun, and “it’s Master Kiprun now” implies that his social transition was relatively recent.

I can just picture this guy sitting at his desk doing alchemy work and grumpily saying to himself. “Hm. It seems that I’m a man” and then coming out in the most abrupt, no-frills, grouchy way possible.
