Kung Fu Panda Legends of Awesomeness - "Master Ping"
When Mr. Ping's noodle shop is destroyed during Po's fight with three pigs named Bao, Lao, and Tsao who want to learn secret Kung Fu moves, Po reluctantly invites him to stay at the Jade Palace. Before long, Mr. Ping's annoying and controlling ways make themselves known as he drives Po, Shifu and the Furious Five crazy. Bao, Lao, and Tsao soon return and plan to learn the secret moves upon capturing Master Shifu. However, they mistake Mr. Ping for Master Shifu.
Po and Monkey are hanging out together at Ping’s restaurant. They aren’t impressed with Mr. Ping’s noodle story. Po is left with taking care of the restaurant for a bit. During his absence 3 pig thugs come in, ask Po to teach them, he refuses, obviously, fight ensues and restaurant ends up destroyed. I appreciate it wasn't Po's fault. Halfway through the fight Monkey stops helping Po because he can take them. When Po has to kick his father out, he put his hand on Po's back to comfort him. I love their friendship.
Shifu is very kind by letting Mr. Ping stay at the palace. He dismisses Po's warnings. Probably thinking Shifu will be as strict with Mr. Ping as he is with his students. For a second I thought he might go off on Ping right in the middle of the palace turn restaurant. He can control his feeling more than I gave him credit for, at least since the movie.
Mr. Ping interacting with the Furious Five is so entertaining. They love his embarrassing stories about Po, love his cooking, joking he may stay forever, and helping him run his business even after not letting the sleep the previous night. And Mr. Ping is so grateful he offers part of his earnings to them. They sincerely feel bad for having to tell him to go to the hotel. They rebuild his home.
On a side note, what a nice community. Hotel owner allowed person in need to stay in his hotel, Ping chatting with that one duck selling apples, and Mrs. Yoon informed Po that something happened to his father.
The father and son relationship Po and Ping have is fantastic. How they love each other, protect one another, talk honestly, I could go on.
Another one of my favorite episodes.
Villains: Bao, Lao, & Tsao, three pigs do their antagonistic job right. It’s cute how they are grateful for being taught kung fu move. They would still use it for doing bad things. At lest they aren’t ungrateful.
