it’s unbecoming of a Jedi Master to ragebait your Padawan, which is why Yaddle will always get away with it. there’s a lesson in here somewhere i’m sure.

Its canon that Yodas species is kept a mystery, for the reason that they don't want their homeworld found. My personal headcanon, is that they hide their actual species features to remain secret, such as hiding their tail under their robes and walking on two legs when they usually walk on four, using the force to aide their balance. The way Yoda talks as well, is because in his native tongue the language is constructed that way, yknow how sentences in other languages are arranged differently than English? Yoda is translating his words as he says them, and its why his sentences sound backwards.
Anyways, Yodas without their robes.......little kobolds
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve loved a short, parental-like character, I’d have three nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened three times

Title: Edge of the Night
Summary: Yaddle enlists the help of Obi-Wan Kenobi to apprehend a renegade Dooku.
He wonders if somewhere in Qui-Gon’s long list of posthumous instructions, was there anything left for his former padawan?
Anything pertaining personally to his former padawan and his personal wellbeing? Not instructions on how to dedicate his entire existence to the needs of the ‘Chosen One’, or how to tend to the needs of his small group of friends and acquaintances, but something for him. And him alone. A reminder that his own personhood was of great importance to his Master, and that he was not simply a means by which Qui-Gon Jinn extended his will.
Unfortunately, Obi-Wan Kenobi does not think so.
Certainly if that were the case, he wouldn’t have volunteered to join Master Yaddle on an impromptu mission regarding his late Master’s own master, Dooku. Obi-Wan was not as familiar with the man as he would have wanted to be, but he had yearned to meet the man who had molded Qui-Gon Jinn into the man he was.
Though as he sits in Master Yaddle’s ship, he wishes the circumstances were better. His mind wanders back to the holocron that the Master had left for him. The motivating factor, small as it may be, that served as his sole purpose for agreeing to help Yaddle in the first place.
And finally, watch over my dear Master Dooku. Every day the darkness envelopes him. And every day he is harder for me to reach. To see. I urge you Obi-Wan, should you sense him slipping, be there to guide him back to the light. For me and for the good of the Order.
“I am not sure if he will be alone, Obi-Wan. If he is not, and with the one who I suspect is a Sith Lord, we will need to be on our guard.”
“I have already alerted the Council of our suspicions. If we must face Dooku and a Sith lord, we will not do so alone, ” Obi-Wan assures her. The plan itself was flawed enough. It was plausible to think he and Yaddle could hold their own
“Qui-Gon always said you were studious and cautious,” he can’t see her face, but from her tone he can sense the smile. He wishes he could share in her joy. But had he been more cautious, perhaps his Master would be alive.
He grounds into the movements of the ship. There is no room for self-loathing, not at this moment. Qui-Gon would not have wanted that for him.
“Let’s hope we don’t need my caution, and that Master Dooku simply needs time away from the Order to collect himself.”
(some of my WIP i wanted to share :D I'll post the rest on ao3 and my blog when i'm done)
The fact Cal uses the MAKASHI form while wielding a blaster is just so hilarious to me. The other Force ghosts are constantly facepalming watching him run around with the Partisans and waving his lightsaber around so proudly, but Dooku would be rolling in his grave seeing another Form II user wield it like this.
Another day, another long line outside a refuelling station.
Greez has been sharing his thoughts, feelings and beliefs regarding the Jedi Order for... well, for a while now. Cal is only half tuned in as he looks to the stars.
Then Greez starts a new soliloquy about Master Yaddle and Cal finds himself experimenting with new patience-exercises just to get through it.
"Yeah, that Master Yaddle sure was a legend. I heard she saved an entire planet from war by performing a tea ceremony that reminded everyone of their united past. She even baked the cakes herself." Greez sighs. "That's the kind of Jedi I wanna know more about."
Cal snorts. He can't hold it in any more. BD stares at him, beeping curiously. Cere sighs in that 'I'm actually really amused by this' way of hers. She has to know what's coming.
Poor Greez.
"What? You thought none of you knew how to cook?" Greez demands. "Show some respect to your elders who went beyond standard Jedi skills, Cal!"
"I have nothing but respect for Master Yaddle," Cal says, hand on his chest. "I promise."
"You got a funny way of showing it."
Cal chuckles. "I mean, she was my Grand Master, and Master Tapal told me so much about her. He was a Lasat, so you can imagine the height difference. He said one time she had to stand on his shoulders just to - "
Greez turns to him. Cal tries to keep his smile innocent, but there's a smirk breaking free.
"Wait. Just wait. Grand Master?"
"Yeah - my master's master."
Greez's fingers tap the controls. "This whole time you've heard me talking about her, and you never said you knew her?"
"Probably because I didn't. She died before I could ever meet her, but I know some stories." He knows a lot of stories. A lot a lot. Master Tapal could be quite chatty if you knew the right questions to ask.
Cal knew the right questions to ask.
"This whole time I've been talking about her, and you're, like, her grandkid or whatever Jedi call it?"
"Grand Padawan," Cal says. "Yup. And it's a true story, the tea ceremony thing. Master Tapal said he had to taste-test a few cakes just to make sure they were delicate enough."
Greez turns to Cere. "You knew this about him?" He jabs a finger in Cal's direction.
"Yes," Cere replies calmly.
Greez rounds on BD who immediately protests. He knew nothing!
"I'm an open book," Cal says, leaning back in the co-pilot's chair. "What do you wanna know?"
Their refuel bay assignment comes in before Greez can answer. Instead, he glares out the viewport. "I'm gonna make a list."
