Jon Moxley vs. Speedball Mike Bailey - AEW Dynamite #305

Rule #1 of wrestling Jon Moxley - if you fear him, you already lost. So many lose to him before the bell even rings as a result. Speedball rushed in and gave Mox a fight to remember, and was close to the biggest singles win of his AEW career - but Mox managed to walk away with the win. These two meshed styles well, hope it's not their only singles match in AEW. Also, Darby added more trauma to the life of Wheeler Yuta ahead of his match with Mox at Forbidden Door.

Yuya Uemura vs. Ryohei Oiwa - G1 Climax 35 - Night 13

In their first ever singles match, at the time when the G1 Climax becomes a do or die tournament with each two points more important than ever, Uemura and Oiwa set the tone for the future of NJPW. In this 18 minute long match, they never once left the ring, no need for an outside brawl here. They traded holds, with Uemura breaking down the arm Oiwa uses for his finishing lariat, and by the end - slipped past him for the win by countering The Grip into the Deadbolt Suplex. This is exactly the type of match I come to NJPW to see, two top level wrestlers seeing who is better on this night. King of Sports indeed.

Samoa Joe vs. Kenta Kobashi

Simply put, one of the greatest professional wrestling matches of all time. Samoa Joe was on the rise, and Kobashi was coming to America for the first time after being a legend in Japan through the 1990's and well into the 2000's. This was a once in a lifetime match, and while Kobashi was worried no one knew who he was in the United States, he walked into a room with 800 rabid fans, and put on a performance that no one would ever forget. Not every dream match works, this one absolutely did on every level. Everything that can be said about this match has been said twenty times, and you can watch it in full on YouTube here.
