Obsessed with this scene. The way Mac immediately and repeatedly claims blame for Jack getting injured, laying out how he should've communicated better... and then just pouts when Matty brings up the fact that it was Jack's idea to jump into a trash compacter in the first place. Absolute best friend of all time.

A/n: Soooo, I got some Macgyver (2016) requests. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) slowly working on them. I received this request from @clonesdserveb3tter also the pancake idea too. have fun!
"Let me get to the point." Maddie threw at Jack to stop him from speaking. "The terrorist group had been causing trouble for some time now, selling illegal weapons and drugs as well as dabbling into human trafficking. Your job, is to stop their business and get their leader so we can dismantle it from the inside."
Riley typed away on her laptop as she threw all the images she collected on the big screen in the war room. "Mac, Jack and Riley, you are going on the field and infiltrate." Bozer was about to dance of happiness, thinking he could hide in his lab and continue the prosthetics until Maddie continued "Bozer you are staying here with me in the war room."
"Whaaa— Maddie I have— Yes, of course." He shrunk down and saluted at her glare and gave the three thumbs up as they cleared the room. "Good luck guys!"
"Don't worry, Boze. At least you won't be drenched through your shirt." Jack clapped him on the back as Riley and Mac walked pass him.
"Yeah and don't have to smell the stench either." Riley snarked as Mac tried to swallow a laugh.
"Yeah… Hey!" Catching on what Riley meant he immediately followed after them. "I don't— It's not that bad, is it?" Mac simply shook his head and patted his shoulder.
"Come on."
_____________
"Fuck!" Jack cursed as he peaked out from their hideout before ducking back down as it rained bullets on them.
"I got you guys backup. Foxglove will join you in 10." Maddie stated as Bozer and her stared at the satellite map in the war room.
"What? No need Maddie. We got this." Jack exclaimed as Mac worked on some scraps and Riley ran back to them while keeping low.
"Oh yeah. Totally. If you mean nearly becoming swiz cheese, sure. Totally got it" Riley threw him a look before sliding further down against the crates as a bullet nearly cut her ear.
"Come on. We got—"
"You don't got this, Jack. Now either you want to shorten your life span or not. Wait for Foxglove until they arrive and than continue the mission with them." Maddie lectured.
It was quiet, the only thing that sounded through their ears was the metal going at the speed of 1700 mph hitting crate boxes made out of wood as no one spoke.
"…Finished."
"What did you finish, Mac?" Riley asked hesitantly, wanting to know what he made out of the material he made her gather as they were in line of fire.
"A stun grenade." He said bluntly, pressing himself against the wood and glancing over the surface, checking the room a threw it over and let it roll towards the terrorists feet as.
Riley and Jack had exchanged a stunned look before immediately covering themselves. The explosion rang a little in their ears but they're safe for the most part and ran out of their hiding and tying them up. Their disorientation came to their advantage.
Swiftly, they rushed to the next room. Jack pushed Mac back before he could even reach the door and leaned against the wall next to it. Pulling out his gun, he reached over and pulled the door open, clearing the room. Unfortunately, as empty as the room was, Jack stepped on a trip wire that was secured at the bottom of the door, a siren sounding through the whole building.
"Seriously." Mac and Riley deadpanned.
"What?! How am I supposed to know they would use fishing wire—" Jack protested.
"Oh, yes. The easiest trick in the books fools the ex delta soldier Jack Dalton." An amused voice spoke up next to them.
Shocked, all three turned around, Jack raised his gun, pointing against the figures chest, Riley raised her laptop out of reflex and Mac stepped back. Everyone froze. Well not everyone. (Y/n) simply chuckled as she let her eyes skim over them. "Foxglove, at your service." She mock bowed after pushing Jacks gun away.
Still in shock, Mac was the first one to snap out of it. "W-What are you doing here?! Aren't you suppose to be writing your phd thesis right now?!" Mac whisper shouts at her pushing Jack away as he moved closer to her.
"I have." She says way to calmly. "So, a think tank, huh?" She sends him a look, brow raised and an amused smile painted on her lips. Not waiting for an explaination, she shook her head and turned around, focusing back on the mission on hand.
Mac followed quickly "We will talk about this later." keeping quiet both of them continued further into the room, siren sounds already snuffed out and shouts of orders and footsteps filled the halls. Jack was about to intervene as he boiled with curiosity, wanting to know who that was but before he could asked, Bozer's voice cut in.
Bozer was doing happy dances in the war room "Hell Yeah! She's back!" Maddie stared him down, immediately freezing he stops and whispers an apology.
"Glad to hear you too, Boze." (Y/n) chuckled as they went to hide behind some machines, waiting for a group of armed men to pass.
"Now, Jack." Maddie spoke up. "That's Foxglove, Mac's sister. Question her later. Focus. Now." Jack grumbled but nodded.

In the end, The group decided to split up to cover more ground and find the leader. Mac and Jack went to the upper floors. Meanwhile, (Y/n) went into the basement with Riley, who was hugging her laptop tight to her chest. Their job was to find the pc every purchase of the terrorist group's clientele was made. Arriving, (Y/n) swept through the room as Riley took a seat and plugged her laptop into it.
"Shit." She cursed.
"What's wrong?" (Y/n) glanced towards her before her eyebrows frowned. Speed walking over she pulled the chair Riley was sitting on back, away from the table and stared at the red screen with white numbers. A ticking filled the quiet, dusty room.
Turning to the hardware, (Y/n) pulled out her Swiss knife and slowly pulled the loose piece of metal off. Freeing the space both women stared at the mechanics before them.
"Fuck…" Riley squeezed her eyes shut and stood up.
The mission, who they thought would be a simply capturing turned out to include a bomb in the description. Normally Mac would dismantle it but since they split up to cover more ground… Riley kept pacing for a bit before stopping, turning to (Y/n) she stared biting her lip.
"What wrong, Riley?" Mac asks through their coms.
"A bomb." Riley said breathlessly, Jack starts to curse on the other end of her com. (Y/n) leaned back, taking a good look all around the whole structure, making sure she got everything that was connected to it before looking over her shoulder, making sure Riley was still there and alright.
"Hmm. You have a bobby pin?"
"Huh? Uh… yeah." She pulls one out of her hair and steps aside. She watches as the reader sticks it between two plates and than pull out an army knife and cutting the wire. It was as if she was seeing Mac disarming a bomb.
"O-okay. That is officially a little creepy." It gave her a shudder, a cold shudder that ran down her back, at how easy it seems to disarm such a scary instrument of death.
"What's wrong?" Maddie asks.
"It's as if I'm seeing two macs…"
"What do you mean?"
Jack and Mac came running into the room as Jack asks. "She just disarmed the bomb with a bobby pin."
"Well, I'm obviously the prettier one." (Y/n) said cheekily as she looked around at the bomb to ensure that it was disarmed after throwing a wink towards the hacker.
Mac said nothing and rolled his eyes walking over to his twins side and looked at the wires before looking around the room for anything else.
"What are you talking about, I'm literally older." the taller one of the two seemed quite offended by such idea.
"Doesn't make you prettier. It's like pancakes. The first one always turns out kinda weird but it makes the second one better." The two blonds stared at each other, teasing and mischief hiding in their eyes. Mac scoffs going back to work. (Y/n) sticks out her tongue in response.

Finishing up the mission, all four of them barely made it out unscathed. They avoided another rain of bullets before they reached the leader and detained him.
Returning to Phoenix gave the group a time to relax until Bozer came running and jumped (Y/n). She simply sighed and let him jump around with her in his arms, overjoyed in seeing her again. Mac and the others chuckled at the scene and let the tension leave their muscles. Maddie joined them and told them that they needed to debrief.
An hour later, they were sitting together on Mac's porch and drinking. Mac handed over the bottles in his hands and sat down next to his sister. "So, your thesis."
"Finished and handed over." She took a sip before giving him a meaningful gaze "Think Tank? Really."
"What? We do think tank stuff."
"Sure…"
"You don't believe me."
"I never do."
Jack, Riley, Bozer and Maddie watched as the two blonds bantered with each other before they stopped and smirked.
