On the island of Kauai, there are 2 endangered honeycreeper bird species called the 'Akikiki' and the 'Akeke'e. They are facing extinction due to disease and habitat loss. The bird conservatory on Maui is doing their best to keep these beautiful birds alive and thriving in Hawaii. They take the eggs out of their nest and put them in an incubator. Once the birds hatch and they're 9 days old, they fly them to Maui, and they raise them there. They will then place those bird's chicks back into the wild on Kauai. They are keeping the mating pairs in captivity to release their chicks into the wild and help their populations grow so the species will survive.
I would love to feed and care for these lovely little chicks!! They are so tiny and beautiful 😍
They look like they are in need of love and kindness, and the people at the bird conservatory in Maui are giving them just that!! It warms my heart to see people protecting birds and helping nature survive what people do. I hope that the conservatory suceeds in their mission. As Elwood Blues of the Blues Brothers would say... they're on a mission from God!!! 😁😍

They are gorgeous, little birds, aren't they? I hope that they save them from extinction, don't you?
I love birds!! Bless these people 🙏🏼 😁😍
