The Koninderie matrix opal was discovered in Andamooka, South Australia.  When discovered the original weight of the matrix opal was 65.7 kilograms, and at the time believed to be the world's largest natural matrix opal. The matrix opal was cut in half in 1975.

My only thought when I finished this piece was “wow, it looks like a sheep’s eyeball.” A little gruesome, sure, but it truly does.

The fourth and fifth requests are ready: Blue Goldstone and Matrix Opal.

Decided to draw all the components of my fusion gems! 

Some notes: Lapis lazuli is defective, she can’t summon wings and can’t control water very well. 

Star Sapphires can’t see the future, but they can predict what goes on at any point in space. About 90% of them became crystal gems and the other 10% left the diamonds’ service because they knew everything they were doing.

Nephrite is defective, not corrupted. A whole facet of nephrite emerged looking like that, and most were poofed and bubbled (but a few escaped, like this one!)
