Interview with Burnie Burns on the evolution of Rooster Teeth
http://streamdaily.tv/2016/02/11/burnie-burns-on-gaming-geeking-out-and-growing-up/
Bullet points:
YouTube approached Rooster Teeth to have Lazer Team debut on YouTube Red when they most of the way through post-production.
Burns was happy their YouTube Red slate was made up almost entirely of YouTube creators.
Burns credits YouTube for providing "golden age of monetization".
"We’ve also adapted to change with our audiences because their tastes change over time."
Biggest change Burns noticed in audiences: they will watch longer videos on YouTube.
Burns is a big proponent of net neutrality. "The thing that really keeps me awake is all the ways that companies and providers are finding ways to deliver more content to people — like Verizon. They’ve just recently started doing this thing where if you’re watching video on (Verizon’s Go90) that Verizon provides, it doesn’t work against your data cap. I’ve always been a big proponent of that."
Burns believes there’s a parallel between online video and gaming. Both took a while to become legitimized. "in its early days, it was this kind of geeky fan thing to be into... Like, if you’re over 25, you just don’t play video games, or you watch all your content on TV and in movie theaters. I think slowly that’s changing, or rather, the perception is changing within the zeitgeist."
"I’m still here every day. I’m still working either here in Austin (Texas) or out of our L.A. offices... This was a hobby that I would do when I came home from my tech job in the early 2000s. There’s really nothing else I would rather be doing."
Time Warner Cable News, all right
Misspells Burnie’s name. Misattributes him as CEO. Completely forgets Matt.

TIMEWARNERFAIL
Rooster Teeth making an animated movie? No, really. Let the speculation begin.
Last night after a screening in Cincinnati, Lazer Team Director Matt Hullum did a Q&A.
Q: “You have a team of amazing animators working on RvB and RWBY. Why did you choose live action over animation?”
A: “That’s a good question. We actually have an animated movie that we’re in development on- (audience excited, Matt coy)- did I reveal something?”

Rooster Teeth in TIME!
Cool! Burnie got quoted by TIME! And Rooster Teeth and Lazer Team were mentioned,
http://time.com/4085459/youtube-red-subscriptions-creators/
Part of Red’s pitch is offering content from YouTube stars that won’t be available on the free version of the site. Production company Rooster Teeth is among the creators making original content for YouTube Red. Its first feature film, a comedy called Lazer Team, will debut in theaters in January and on YouTube later in 2016. For Rooster Teeth, partnering with YouTube offered an opportunity to stand out compared to getting lost among the thousands of films available on more established premium streaming services.
“If we were to go on another traditional video on demand service, our movie would go up and we’d be an icon in a list of icons,” says Burnie Burns, chief creative officer of Rooster Teeth. “YouTube has a history of honoring their creators, the people who have built those thriving businesses.”
