When you are a man, every once in awhile you might hear a female friend say, 'Oh, it sucks that I have to put on makeup to go out, and you don't.' Some guys might say, 'Well, you don't have to wear makeup,' but then you get all kinds of comments from guys who might say, 'Oh wow, you look tired,' or 'Didn't feel like trying today, huh?' A lot of different things. I've never been told that I look sweaty or I'm dressed inappropriately, or have to worry about if how I'm dressed will call unwanted attention or make me feel unsafe. It's all of these issues really acting at once. I think that part of my job and my duty and what I feel like my duty is in this, is to bring the attention to the issues for men and white people and straight people.
