Maureen is the goddess of love. Lydia is the goddess of war. Their romance has been written and re-written so many times in the history of the world that the truth has been lost even to them. But Maureen’s breath always tastes of mint and Lydia’s hair always smells of burnt wood. And holding each other is still pure bliss.

maurydia hc pt. 1

maureen gets bitten by camille but not turned 

camille mentions simon so maureen tracks him the fuck down to the institute and stakes (ha) out there until she catches alec on a Walk Of Shame back from magnus’s

“there is a woman in a fancy looking blue car outside and it’s simon’s fault”

simon goes out to talk to her and clary eventually invites her in to the institute (”why is there a mundane in the institute”)

anyway lydia is gone from the start

this mundane has pretty eyes and she’s wearing a nice purple dress which is obviously why lydia is staring at her no matter what alec’s smug little smile is suggesting

lydia assigns herself Protector of The Mundane bc u know everyone else is busy looking for jace obviously 

at this point alec and izzy have that smug smile thing going on

maureen takes lydia back to her place and makes lydia explain everything (which lydia shouldnt be doing but she cant stop herself)

lydia sleeps on her couch for a week (to protect her from the vampire, magnus) and maureen starts to feel guilty bc that can not be good for her back

“we could... share a bed... u kno. bc of the vampires” 

bed sharing commences and they stay up until 6am talking (also maureen wears these cute pyjamas that are too big for her and she does sleeve paws and lydia is so gone) 

maureen falls asleep and lydia has to go so she shakes her awake (“there’s an emergency at the institute i’ll send clary if she can come-”) and maureen walks her to the door while she shoves her hair into a ponytail and drags on her jacket (she slept in one of maureen’s old t-shirts and she forgot to change out of it- maureen totally notices but likes the idea of lydia in her clothes) and while lydia is telling her to lock her door and remember the stake under her pillow and have it by her at all times maureen grabs her face and says “can i kiss you” 

and lydia just kinda stands there for a couple seconds and then nods quickly

and then maureen kisses her but her phone is ringing again so she has to pull away and maureen is still holding her face but she has to go, i’ll be back later 

simon is just as excited as he was when magnus and alec kissed 

alec is even more excited than that

also this is totally slightly inspired by @quitemagicalbane‘s maurydia hc’s which u can find here!

I can't believe Jace is so in love with his nonbinary boyfriend, Meliorn who was himself in a happy and healthy poly relationship with Isabelle who gets along really well with Clary (her lesbian redheaded girlfriend)'s mother Jocelyn and Jocelyn's lesbian girlfriend Dot but also Jocelyn's bisexual boyfriend Luke and Luke's gay boyfriend Alaric. Speaking of gay, Raphael is gay and aro/ace while his boyfriend Simon is pansexual, just like Hodge, who betrayed everyone, including Alec who's very gay for his bisexual boyfriend Magnus, who hates his bisexual ex Camille who secretely has a crush on Lydia but sadly she loves her lesbian girlfriend Maureen. I'm still shocked sometimes that nobody is straight except that creepy vampire guy who hit on Clary. How truly lucky we are.

Maureen kept gushing over Lydia's braid so Lydia does Maureen's hair and they're laughing and then Lydia asks to be paid with kisses and it's beautiful and perfect, bless this, Maurydia rises

mundane x clave envoy, should be interesting

first meeting

maureen getting sucked into the shadow world because of clary and simon obviously

maureen being taken or hurt by a downworlder and having to be healed and kept safe in the institute

lydia - still not completely back in shape - taking care of her while the others are out training

maureen explaining that she’s a friend of clary and simon… or at least she used to be

“simon and i… we hooked up once. the morning after he called me clary and then he ran out and disappeared” “alec literally left me at the altar” “men…” “men…”

you’ve heard of shadowhunter/downwolder, now get ready for… mundane/clave envoy

the clave not being happy after finding out a mundane knows about the shadow world (it wouldn’t even have been that bad, but they’re still salty because of The Wedding Incident™) and demanding for magnus to erase it

of course he does it… except not really 

“magnus, please. i would never break the rules, especially not now, but… i really trust her and i don’t want her to forget about me” “you had me at ‘break the rules’. plus… i owe you, remember?”

magnus knowing

him pulling it all off believably by only erasing some irrelevant details + a whole lot of acting from everybody

maureen isn’t the clave’s biggest problem anyway with valentine running around

low key sneaking around. the squad knows, but obviously the others in the institute don’t

lydia teaching maureen about the shadow world

maureen teaching lydia about the mundane world

lydia staying the night at maureen’s place before dangerous missions so they can cuddle the whole night

big spoon!maureen holding lydia and not letting her go in the morning

lydia pretending not to be strong enough to get out of her gf’s grip, even though she’s a shadowhunter, just so they can cuddle longer

“shadowhunters don’t say goodbye, it’s bad luck” “well, what about a kiss then?”

“we’re getting a drink to celebrate that the mission went well, you coming?” “eh…” “maureen can come too” “we’ll be there in half an hour”

lydia being a little nervous because simon will be there too and maureen and him haven’t talked it out yet

it surprisingly not being awkward at all. simon has raphael, maureen has lydia and everyone is happy

maureen, simon and clary talking about mundane stuff while lydia and raphael are just listening, lydia making hearteyes at maureen, raphael at simon

magnus, alec, luke and alaric talking to each other about Grown Up’s Stuff on the other side of the table

except not really. luke and alaric are telling Werewolf and Police Stories, alec is listening and enjoying himself a little for the first time since jace left and magnus is making hearteyes at alec

hand holding while everyone is looking at them fondly because they’re really cute together

feel free to add stuff, i’m gonna cry now. don’t you guys just love dying and being dead? :)
