Introducing — 「 ✦ Ginevra Galas ✦ 」
— across the dc universe —
Smallville
Ginevra Galas was born in smallville and moved away after the meteor shower. When Ginevra is 16 years old, after much consideration — and job offers — Ginevra's family moves back to Smallville. While Ginevra's not too excited about the prospect of leaving the city, she is happy to reunite with her childhood friend Chloe Sullivan. And it seems to be a perfect moment for Chloe too since she's handling a job at the Daily Planet whilst still handling the Torch at school. Ginevra is the perfect solution. She learns the ropes of the place - and school, for that matter - from Chloe and her new friends: Lana Lang, Pete Ross and Clark Kent.
It then seems to go in a very simple manner: Ginevra is in the wrong spot, at the wrong time.
She's always loved crystals and the meanings behind them. Now, after a mysterious explosion in an antique store in town (something she was told is very common in Smallville), she gains the ability to produce crystals from her very own hands. Too frightened and confused to tell anyone, Ginevra tries navigating this new power on her own. Chloe’s 'wall of weird' certainly doesn't help motivate her to come clean, so Ginevra settles on pretending being normal. She just wished the wall of weird would stop being the gift that keeps giving because apparently, Smallville is filled with "weirdos" who terrorize its citizens. And it somehow always gets her, Chloe and Clark into the center of it. It definitely hinders her grand plan of staying hidden and normal.
Ginevra soon learns that living in Smallville means you'll never get a moment of peace.
It also looks like her return to Smallville wasn't as random as she thought...but to be preordained sounds more than crazy. What could she possibly have to do with some cave stories? Little by little, Ginevra unravels the truth about her powers and how she's much more connected to the world of powers and, unfortunately, the battles of the saving-the-world kind.
2025!Superman
Ginevra Galas is disillusioned with the world and nobody knows why. As a reporter, her work always reflects her less than impressed view of the world. It’s a stark difference to her general kind personality. Clark Kent surely doesn’t know why she behaves the way she does despite growing up in the same town as her and being great friends. Everyone always asks him “what’s her deal?’ and he, bless his heart, never knows what to say. ‘She wasn’t always like that’, he sometimes tells Lois and Jimmy. ‘She used to smile a lot more, I swear. We used to have the best of times!’ And he always said it with a special sparkle in his eyes. If there was a definition for ‘sunshine and rainbows’, it had always been Ginevra. She had the special talent of making anyone around her feel warm and safe, a phenomenon for him and his situation.
But that was pre-college. It was before they split up to take their routes after high school graduation.
When they reunited at the Daily Planet, Clark was ecstatic to have her back in his life, even if it was just as friends. But very quickly he realized that Ginevra was different. She saw things differently. Good doesn’t always win. Justice doesn’t always prevail. She trusted very little around her, even going as far as expressing her honest-to-God wariness of Superman…Her fear of the world and what it could become was a constant burden for her. It all intensifies when Lex Luthor uses it all as a way to turn the world against those metas — and aliens — who are genuinely trying to be good in the world. One day, Superman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, Prisma and more metahumans might find themselves in hot waters and perhaps even killed for the act of simply existing.
My Adventures with Superman
Ginevra Galas teeters between the lines of her humanity and the horrific truth of who she is. Abandoned as a twelve year old by her own kind and with no memory of her name — she wanders the streets of Metropolis until, by a stroke of luck, she’s found by a wonderful human family and taken in as one of their own. Given the name ‘Ginevra’ by her new family, she learns how to hide her true self from them, not wanting to be rejected by the loving humans now claiming her as their own daughter. But all the wonderful years as Ginevra Galas is not enough to keep away the nightmares of her fragmented past.
Dreaming of experiments in off-world labs, accompanied by the undeniable screams and flames of war, Ginevra ultimately remembers exactly how she came to be before being abandoned on Earth. A child from a test tube, a cross between two races rebranded as a ‘Worldkiller’, Ginevra was created and designed to fight the Kryptonian war in a last attempt to win. She, along with other Worldkillers, were Krypton’s last experiments before everything was destroyed.
The truth is more scrambled when a new ‘hero’ makes his mark on the streets. Superman. A Kryptonian, if Ginevra ever saw one. Seeing him brings a long new, yet still fragmented, memories of the past. Where the hell did he come from? How did he get here? Did that mean there were others coming now? She’s ready to search for the truth alongside her friends, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Clark Kent — although only Lois seems to be eager to research Superman.
Ginevra understands a Worldkiller’s purpose, but she also remembers everything her human family has taught her. She loves Earth, she loves her life, her friends and her job. Who could guess that the only reason she exists in the universe is to help destroy it? She herself wishes to forget that ugly part of her, but with growing threats, especially that of Brainiac, it looks like being a full-fledged Worldkiller might be her only destiny.
don't be fooled I might switch around synopses, it's all still drafts
AN: still finishing up tickletober with only 1 more fic left! Sorry this one’s not longer, but I’ve been real busy lately. Here’s some sweet fluff with Clark & Lois! Maws is so good, & these 2 are literally so in love it hurts! So anyway, here’s the fic for day 26!
Lois was lying on the couch, pinned beneath her boyfriend, and blushing profusely as she giggled herself silly. Her thoughts melted away into nothing as Clark peppered kisses across her skin, starting from her feet all the way to her face. He wanted to admire each freckle, every mole on her body as if it were a work of art. And he was taking his sweet time.
He had started with the mole atop her foot, right on the ankle. He had gently grabbed her calf and raised her leg so he could place a short, sweet kiss to the spot. She flinched away with a smile, nose scrunching as she fought off a laugh. Encouraged, he stretched her leg out, trailing kisses along her skin over every mole and freckle he could find.
She was quickly thrown into a giggle fit as he trailed up her legs, peppering kisses along the cluster of freckles close to her knee. She snorted and tucked her knees to her chest for protection. He chuckled, gently pushing her legs back down to the cushions.
They locked eyes as he began rolling her shirt up, placing a quick kiss to the mole on her hip. She squealed and curled in on herself.
"Cl-Clahahark! Wahait!" she gasped as he nuzzled her soft tummy. One hand rested atop his head, notably not pushing him away. He cocked his head innocently.
"For what, exactly?" he asked, rare smugness slipping into his tone.
"Just gimme aha second! Geheheez!" she huffed, trying to sound annoyed, but even she could hear her sappy tone. She broke off into breathless giggles as he began trailing soft kisses up her forearm, following the pattern of freckles dotting her skin.
"You're beautiful like this, you know that?" he asked, and it sounded so genuine, it sent her spiraling, just a little. She covered her face and squealed; half embarrassment, half excitement.
"S-shuhut uhuhup, you sahahap!" she giggled, trying to shove him away with a hand to the face. He took the opportunity to grab her wrist, so small and frail in his hand, and kissed the freckles leading up her arm.
It was so sweet, and silly, and just so Clark that she couldn’t stop the laughter spilling free even if tried.
“What? Am I not allowed to kiss my girlfriend?” he taunted, peppering the smattering of freckles on her shoulder. Breathless giggles continued to make their escape as his lips connected with her neck, kissing the small mole there. She squealed and scrunched her shoulders, a wide smile plastered to her face.
“No-” she began to protest that wasn’t the problem, but he cut in.
“No? I thought this was supposed to be a free country!” he cried indignantly, playing it up just to hear her snort in amusement.
“Nohohot whahat I meant, Smahahallville!”
“I know,” he shrugged smugly, placing a kiss on her cheek, then another on her forehead, and a final one on the tip of her nose, making her scrunch her face adorably.
She caught him staring and pale blush dusted her cheeks. “What?”
Clark smiled, meeting her gaze. “You’re just really pretty when you laugh like that.”
And suddenly her faint blush wasn’t so faint anymore.
“Thanks,” she said shyly. He scooted a little closer, tilting her chin up ever so slightly.
My room looks like a paper hurricane went through it. But!!!!
The typed edits of The Soft Light of Home are done!
It is currently 110,432 words 31 chapters and an epilogue. It is 447 pages (That i have to print one last time.) The only edit left is the Rainbow Edit, which is essentially prettying things up and some illustrations. (There will be at least 2. I might go as hard as 15, but that depends on time and how angry my carpal tunnel gets)
So it will grow a little bit.
Once I get 2 acts ahead with the rainbow edit, I will start posting. I am aiming for early June. (which is funny, because I think the first time I tried to post it was also in June, back in 2024. I took it down because it needed more editing.)
Ya'll I have been working on this beast for over 2 years and 7 months.
Yay!! More Slex and TimKon! Couldn't help myself but make a MAWS fic with a teenage Kon having to introduce his parents to his boyfriend and then having the rest of the Slex family meet the batfam! The other chapters of this will be coming out soon and we will get most of the batfam introudced to Kon! Chapter one was a bit longer than I thought but I hope you all enjoy! :)
Chapter 1: Recipe for Something
While trying to prepare a nice dinner for the night Conner finally introduces his mysterious boyfriend to his parents, Slade can't help but notice something is eating at Lex.
With narrowed focused eyes and a scrunched nose, Lex stares at the tablet resting at a precise 47 degree angle while he desperately tries to follow along with the recipe. If nothing else, Lex prides himself on his intellect and ability to learn and adapt on the fly…atlesat in a lab setting. The kitchen however is a very different animal. It also doesn’t help that the entire time he’s been struggling to focus and follow the directions to the letter, he’s been having to stop to adjust the tablet. The smooth surface of the marble countertop making it nearly impossible for the sleek case of Lex’s tablet to get a solid grip on the counter, so that means he has to keep pausing the prep work for their meal tonight to repeatedly fix the device.
Watching from the entryway, Slade leans against the wall frame with his arms crossed over his chest and a raised eyebrow. He’ll admit, it was cute at first. Lex struggling with the tablet and stumbling over the instructions for what SHOULD be a fairly easy meal is endearing, especially the way the shorter male will grumble under his breath as he works.
But it’s been about half an hour of Lex just trying to mix the ingredients in the bowl to whisk them…God knows how long it would take if Slade didn’t step in at some point. And unlike most of their dinners, this one actually is kind of important.
“Lex, Baby…Are you sure you don’t want any help with dinner?”
“I can manage! It’s a simple recipe… It says so! ‘Perfect for an easy meal for the family’ Right there in the instructions, Slade! Plain as day!”
The near panicked tone of Lex’s voice does little to sway Slade’s concern but the latter doesn’t know the best way to press the subject. With a gentle shrug of his shoulders, Slade takes slow footsteps towards the part of the counter Lex is hunched over, trying his best to measure out the brown sugar to the last minuscule particle before adding it into the mixing bowl. A hand gently placing itself on Lex’s shoulder has the smaller male stopping mid whisk, his knuckles clenched white around the utensil as he slowly looks up to Salde.
“Slade, I”- biting his bottom lip as he slowly drags his eyes back down to the half mixed sludge in the bowl, Lex struggles to find the words he desperately needs to say- “It said it was an easy recipe…”
Patting his partner’s shoulder gently, Slade takes the whisk out of Lex’s hand and smiles down at him reassuringly. “And I’m sure it IS an easy recipe. For people who cook regularly. We are the type of people that eat out all the time or do ready meals, we are not ‘cooking’ people.”
Pressing a kiss into Lex’s right temple, Slade gently scoots the smaller male to the side so he can try to salvage the half mixed seasonings in the bowl, though it wouldn't be the end of the world if they had to start over. Picking up his tablet, Lex quickly swipes to the next page of the instructions to see what they need to do next, much to Slade’s chagrin.
“ACK! Lex! I kinda need that!”
“I’ll just read to you what it says to add in next, I want to read ahead to see what the next part calls for.”
Rolling his eye but staying silent, Slade carefully adds in the last remaining pieces to the sauces recipe. Not missing the chance to take a small finger dip taste in the process, a soft approving hum leaves his lips as he tosses the whisk into the sink before looking down at Lex for the next steps.
“Not that I’m complaining, Babe, but was all this really necessary for tonight? We could've just as easily ordered in and Kon wouldn’t know.”
“Slade! Of course we needed this to be special! He’s finally bringing over his boyfriend! We’ve been begging him for weeks to finally let us meet this kid.”
“Yeah, couldn’t you have just ya know, cyber stalked in like you’re prone to do? Would be kinda nice to know who we’re dealing with tonight”
“I…I didn’t feel right about it…Trust me, I wanted to! It would’ve been no problem at all, ten seconds flat. No issue. It’s just…”
Tilting his head to look down at Lex, Slade manages to evenly spread his focus between his boyfriend and the pork chops he’s searing —and doing a pretty damn good job if you ask him— as he listens to Lex stumble through an explanation.
“I just…It’s his first boyfriend! And they met after he snuck out last month. I just..I thought we might get lucky and skip over the teen rebellion phase but him sneaking out scared me, Slade. I-it made me realize that we don’t have our little Kon anymore…”
“Hey…Lex, that-that’s not true…He’s still our Kon, he’s just a little taller and has an attitude more often than not now! It’s not that bad and he was never really a baby for us anyway.”
“I know, I know…But when he told us that he went and got himself a boyfriend I wanted to fucking faint! I mean, how does a super teen clone even manage to get a fucking boyfriend without his parents finding out before hand?! Like how the fuck did he manage that and why would he even want a boyfriend yet?!” Throwing his hands up before cupping his face, his glasses pushed up along the ridge of his nose as he rubs his eyes, Lex can only listen as Slade lets out a half choked chuckle.
“I mean…Do you want , like, the actual answer or do you want me to be a supportive parent.”
“Slade, I swear to god if you say that they’re fucking I’m going to stab you…You’ll lose your other eye…”
Another cackle slips through the white haired male’s lips before he bites the inside of his cheek, clearly thinking exactly that but not wanting to risk Lex following through on that threat. The pan sizzling as he works, Slade struggles to fix his face before looking back down at Lex, who’s meeting his playful gaze with an attempted serious glare.
“Alright, Alright. I won’t say it…but you said it first so I’ll just agree.” Smirking down at his boyfriend, Slade takes the chance to give Lex another quick kiss, this time it’s a peck on the forehead. Halfheartedly pushing the taller male away, Lex tries to take back over the cooking but Slade doesn’t let him. Bapping Lex’s hand away, Slade can only smile endearingly as he hears Lex’s squawks of indignation at the denial.
“Slade Wilson! You let me help!”
“I got it, Lex! Stop worrying. It’s almost done now…We just have to let the pork chops rest while we make the sides…Besides, shouldn’t Kon be getting in with Tom soon?”
“Tim, Slade. It’s Tim.”
“Tim, right. Tim, got it….Hey, that’s three now.”
“Three what?”
“Three people with 3 letter names in my life.”
Sorting through the possibilities in his head, Lex can’t help the confused look spreading across his face as he stares up at Slade expectantly. “Alrigth, I’ll bite…I’m one. Tim is now one. Who’s the third?”
Feigning a shocked and appalled gasp, Slade dramatically clutches his chest while looking down at Lex. “Alexander Luthor! You forget your own child…How tragic…An unmarried mother and neglectful…for Shame.”
A rough smack to the forearm has Slade dropping the snark but he keeps the smirk as he snickers.
“You know damn well his name is Conner, you jackass.”
“No shit I know that! But we call him Kon! Also, love that you just totally accepted that you’re the mom here.” Muttering it under his breath though still clearly audible, Slade’s grin only grows as a blush crawls across Lex’s face.
“Oh shut it…”
The two are nearly finished setting the table when they hear that familiar clink shnikt tink ensemble that lightly echoes in the foyer whenever Conner gets home. The clink of him unlocking the door before pushing it inward and walking in. The shnikt of him fumbling with his key ring before he drops them in the bowl by the door. The high pitch tink confirms that his keys were deposited into the small dish on the table, Slade’s car fob and keys nearby in the same dish.
“Oh fuck”
“Shit…”
And just like that, all confidence Slade had seemingly had throughout the day suddenly vanished and the calm composed nature Lex was trying to keep together slipped away entirely.
“What, what do you mean ‘shit?!’” In a whisper yell, Lex looks across the table they were midway through laying at Slade, his eyes scanning for any read on his boyfriend’s current mood.
“I don’t know Lex! I-I just got super fucking nervous for no reason!”
“Why are you nervous!? You’re the calm ex-assassin one that’s good under pressure!”
“SHHH! Don’t just fuckign yell that!”
“WE’RE WHISPERING!”
Going back and forth, each hushed declaration softer than the last, Slade and Lex end up on the same side of the table as they bicker, though there’s not anything really to bicker about.
“You’ve been perfectly fine all day! Why are you suddenly getting cold feet about meeting Tom?!”
“You said his name was Tim!”
“Fuck! Yes, Tim! HIm! Why are you suddenly getting nervous!?”
Before Slade can manage an answer, the pair hear Conner call out from the living room, clearly more than a little confused as to why there’s no greeting.
The second they hear Kon call out of them they freeze.
“Fuck”
“Fuck…”
“Dads! Where are you?”
In the living room, Conner looks towards the kitchen door confused while Tim takes the chance to look around himself. Softer hued blue eyes scanning the room, eyes lingering for just a moment on the fish tank pressed against a wall before they sweep across the dwelling. Taking metal notes the entire, Tim gently unlaces his fingers from Conner’s hold to explore just a little, the tips of his fingers just barely brushing against Conner’s thumb and wrist before all contact is cut as Tim walks away.
“Dad! Slade! We’re here! Why are you two still in the kit-Oh gross! Please tell me you’re not making out!!”
A choked cackle rips itself from Tim’s throat, his right hand coming to cover his mouth as his shoulders shake. Turning back towards Conner, Tim tilts his head quizzically at the assertion before jumbled and overlapping explanations can be heard as both adults quickly exit the kitchen.
“That-that is not what was happening!” Already fumbling over his words, Lex can’t stop his eyes from glancing at Tim when they enter the living, though he’s trying to just acknowledge his own son for the time being.
“A likely story…”
“Conner really! That’s not what we were doing! We were just making dinner!”
His bottom lip slowly poking out as his arms cross over his chest, Conner watches Lex completely convinced his parents are trying to gaslight him. Lex’s eyes shift uncomfortably as he feels Conner trying to bore holes into his soul, like the more he stares at him the more evident the truth would become. The only thing that manages to break the teen’s focus is Slade clearing his throat and nodding his head towards Tim’s direction when Conner looks over at his step-father.
“Conner…Buddy, we do have a guest…”
The suspicious and unbelieving air surrounding him fading, Conner’s eyes light up when he remembers why exactly they’re all there tonight. It’s Tim’s first time meeting the Luthor-Wilson family!
“Right! Fuck yeah! Ok!” In total disregard for etiquette and manners with the swearing, Conner excitedly rushes over to grab Tim by the arm. All but jerking the smaller ravenette over towards them, Conner basically presents Tim to his parents instead of introducing them like he should have.
“Conner! Don’t just yank the poor guy! You’ve got almost a foot on him!” Slade scolds ruffling his son’s hair gently, only to be met with a pair of brilliantly blue and childlike eyes that only betray the foul words that slip from his lips.
“What?! Tim doesn’t mind being man-handled. Right, Tim?”
“Conner!!” Lex’s shocked exclamation only accentuated by the slight voice crack everyone hears plain as day as he stares at his son bewildered.
“Oh my god…” Slade’s hand curling in Conner’s hair as he looks down at his son, completely blindsided by the sheer lack of tact.
God damn, all right memo to literally everyone. A caffeine addicted scientist and an ex-special forces turned assassin turned bodyguard probably shouldn’t be the sole individuals raising a clone superhuman teen. Just saying.
The only thing that manages to break the ever increasingly awkward tension is the laugh that comes from Tim who is dismissively waving off the notion.
“No! No, god, no…He-he doesn’t mean like that. I have brothers…I-haha-ha…I’m used to the rough housing” Extending his hand out towards the closest adult, Tim looks forward to try and meet Lex’s eyes before he speaks.
“Tim Drake, it’s a pleasure Mr.Luthor…I’m glad to finally meet you. Kon has told me so much about you.”
AN: still playing catch up, so here’s day 21 with the Superman crew! They’re all such goofballs, I love them! There’s a severe lack of fics for this fandom, so I’m here to fix that! Hope y’all enjoy!
It was finally Halloween, and Clark had been hyping up his costume for the whole month. At this point, his friends were just dying to know what it was, as he'd been sure to keep it a secret.
Lois and Jimmy anxiously waited in the living room as he got changed, each in their own costumes. Jimmy was dressed like someone from the Matrix, complete with sunglasses and a black leather duster. He sat on the couch, leg bouncing in anticipation as he scrolled on his phone. Lois was your typical witch, wearing a black dress with a purple and black lace witch's hat. The layers of jewelry she has on jingles softly as she paced the room.
"Okay Smallville, I know it doesn't take that long to change clothes," Lois called through the door as she gave a light knock.
"Just gimme a sec! It's a little snug, but I've almost got it on!"
Jimmy stifled a laugh from his spot on the couch. "Okay, now I've gotta see!"
"Okay, close your eyes!"
"Come out already!"
"Just do it!"
"Ugh, fine," she groaned playfully before covering her eyes.
"Are they closed?"
"Yes!"
"Jimmy?"
"Yes dude! Just come out so we can see you!"
They heard the bedroom door creak open.
"Ta-da!"
They immediately looked to see what epic costume he'd been working on all month long, only to stare blankly in confusion.
It was a Superman costume. A really bad Superman costume.
"Well?" he asked, smile stretching from ear to ear. He held his arms out to his sides, giving a proud spin. The sleeves were straining around his large biceps, testing the seams for all they're worth. He wore bright blue leggings that were more like high waters, and over that he wore a red pair of Fruit of the Loom underwear. A badly drawn Superman logo was safety-pinned to the front of his shirt, and a red blanket was tied around his shoulders.
"It's..." Lois started, unsure whether she should laugh and hiding her smile behind her hand.
"You look ridiculous! This is what you've been working on?" Jimmy exclaimed. Clark grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck.
"What? I thought it was funny!" he defended his choice. Jimmy smirked.
"Well congrats, 'cause you look hilarious!" he teased, shooting finger guns at his friend.
Now that she knew it was intentionally bad, she couldn't help but laugh. "Oho my God, could you find a smaller shirt?" she asked, walking closer to get a better look. She circled him, looking him up and down, clearly amused. "Those pants look like they were painted on," she chuckled.
"Yeah, I was kinda going for a "kid who grew out of last year's costume" kinda look," he admitted.
"You know what? I see it," she tilted her head to get a better angle, nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, it's got a homemade, nostalgic vibe to it," Jimmy agreed.
"Heh, thanks. At first I wasn't sure what- AH!" Clark interrupted himself with a yelp when he felt a poke to his side. "Hehey, what was that for?"
"You got a hole in your shirt, riiiight here," she struck again, this time scribbling against the small patch of bare skin. He barked out a laugh and twisted away, right into Jimmy. Since when was he standing there?
"Well dohohon't make it worse!" he cried out, trying to gently pry her hand out of the now larger hole. Clark shrieked when he felt squeezing on his other side, his laughter growing full and steady.
"Don't worry Lois, I was with him when he bought it and he got like, five back up pairs," Jimmy explained, granting permission to ruin the shirt.
"Ihit was only four! They were hahahaving aha sale!" he tried to justify his purchase through giggles.
“Glad you came prepared! Now I don’t have to feel guilty about doing this!” she made her point by plunging her entire hand through the small hole, stretching it enough to fit her arm inside. She reached around to scribble his bare stomach, relishing it the squeal that left his lips.
Clark could do nothing but stand there and laugh while his friends had their fun picking him apart. But if he were being honest, he was having just as much fun.
