COMIC BOOK EDITS :: BILLIE BARNES
↳ A History of the Character Below
Sybil 'Billie' Barnes was first introduced in the Silver Age Comic Book Series Green Lantern co-starring Green Arrow, as a contemporary of Hal Jordan's with an unknown connection to Oliver Queen and Star City. The popularity of the character led to several cameo appearances as a supporting character in Green Arrow's solo run until her death in Crisis on Infinite Earths alongside Kara Zor-El and Barry Allen.

"Now, how could I ever be you?"
This is my DC OC, Kàhm-El, better known as his human name: Caleb! His story deals with themes of feeling less than and struggling to live up to the expectations set on your shoulders, which inspired me to make this piece.
Hidden details:
Insignias: Both Superman's and Caleb's Insignias are inspired by the Kryptonian language. Superman's is based off the symbol for S, while Caleb's is based off the symbol for zero. This shows their differences in how they see themselves. Superman sees himself as, well, Superman. He's a hero, a symbol of hope. Thats how he defines himself. Caleb sees himself as less than the other heroes, even the lowest of the low; hence, a zero.
Lighting: Superman is framed in sunlight, while Caleb is shrouded in darkness. This represents their public perception; it's not just how the public views them, but how Caleb and Clark view heroes as a whole.
Position: Superman stands tall, representing his optimism and hope. However, Caleb is crouched down, crushed by the expectations of his predecessor. He cannot fall on the identity of his past (the gloves, representing his time in Lexcorp) or reach for his future (the flannel, representing his role as a hero). All he can do is feel the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Tears: If you look very closely on the ground near Caleb, then you'll see teardrops on the pavement.
