I scored a $20 voucher on @burgersofmelbourne Instagram burger comp awhile back for Humburger (just on Glenferrie rd), so I thought I’d give it a chomp. I’ve been there before and I rated the burgers so I knew it’d be a safe option either way. I went for the ‘New York’ ($14.5), which consisted of: two beef patties, bacon, cheddar, caramelised onion, pickles, mayo and tommy sauce. The burger overall was tasty. Cheese melted just how I like it, gooey goodness that isn’t overpowering. A nice brioche bun complemented the two patties, but both were a bit too charred. It was a juuuuuuicay thang, let me tell you that, but not so that it distracted you from the goodness. This also meant that the buns were soaked, which is the downside of not having a condiment/ingredient to protect it. I really should’ve added their spicy mayo sauce or jalapeños, which I’ve had before (maybe I should have just gone for the ‘Melbournian’ burger), but I was still happy with the burger. They’ve also opened a beer garden out the back with a few local artists taking to the walls. I'd recommend trying out this place, I’ve always had a decent burger. They also have cool names like ‘Disco Fries’ and a crazy selection of shakes.
