omg please feel free to write essays in the tags <3 there's just so much there!! like we now know bilal loves lgbt artists and black artists and 80s new york arts culture!! that's canon!! and your point about class too, so true. when things like patches, holes, hand drawn art on clothes are popularized by the kendall jenners of the world & sold for $100+ its like hello? hello?? that's not yours to enjoy sorry!! i want them to explore that so bad especially if bilal tries to enter the industry 🤞
yes yes yes exactly !! so interesting to think about how bilal upcycles his clothes out of his own interest and passion but also probably out of necessity as hand-made patches and drawings are the cheapest way to make something interesting out of a piece of clothing he probably got from a charity shop like we saw in that earlier clip, and then how that same kind of look is being co-opted by big fashion brands and celebrities who then make a profit off of it. whew the layers this show could dive into....
also I recently went through bilal’s insta and it’s so cool to see how much fashion inspo he’s posted like it’s so clearly a big part of his character and personality !! so I’m hoping they really dive into it since it seems like they’ve set it up well (would Love to see him try to enter the industry or like...start to consider that as a career path). and I noticed pictures of more items of clothing that look like he’s altered/added to them and I want to see more! I want to hear about when he started getting into style and fashion! and how he found his influences! and how much of his wardrobe has been pieced together from different sources and his own creativity! sigh there is so much there ur so right
